Everything you hoped it would be
It’s actually hard to believe it’s real. I’d seen its image in so many films and photos that standing in the gardens was a little surreal. You have to accept that there are a lot of people there no matter what time of day you go but it is truly breathtaking. The visitor process is well run with little buggies shuttling you to the entrance. The gardens are beautiful. Accept the fact that you should go with one of the many professional photographers. It’s worth it for a fiver to get some good shots and not to have to fend off the folk who want your business for the whole trip.

    As stunning as you’d expect
A stunning building that doesn’t disappoint. The impact is extraordinary. The loss of a star isn’t for the stupendous building but for the horrible and sustained hassle within the grounds that stops you peacefully absorbing the beauty. Worse than any other location - and that was with a guide who saw people off. Endless hassle from groups of young men - not something we experienced on this scale anywhere else.

    Incredible India, amazing Taj
Is so much better then I expected, beautiful ❤️, breathless. So white and shining and the atmosphere all around is magic. Of course is a crowded place there are always many tourists. Despite the hot temperature, we love it. Our guide tell us was better visiting in the evening. Was great! Beautiful sunset and lovely pics. Thank so much to our guide Bobby, who told so much history obit the Taj and the Mughal

    Wow
I had high expectations and the majesty of the Taj Mahal best them all. We went before dawn to stand in line and are pleased we did. It was amazing. The artistry was splendid. The architecture breathtaking. Go. Take your time. Enjoy.

    Taj mahal
I visited Taj Mahal on April 3. It was built by mughal emperor Shah Jahan in the memory of his late wife Mumtaz mahal. Taj Mahal is the 7th wonder of the World. I love the design of the monument made of white marble. Its one of the most tourist visited destination in India. Even shah jahan Tomb is present there.

    Stunning
What everyone else says. It is more stunning in person. If you are going to make the trip out to Agra, you might as well get a tour guide and leverage paid services to make the experience better. I learnt a lot more than I can find on Wikipedia about the history and the visual context made it even better.

If you only do one thing in India...
A once in a lifetime experience. It was utterly spell binding. Visit early for the dawn view you won't be disappointed. At 6am it's not too busy so you can take pictures that are fairly clear of obstruction. You can easily book tickets online. Such a beautiful romantic story to go with it.

    Sublime
Forget about what happens outside,it's what exists within the grounds that matters. All I can say is that it is sublimely beautiful. We got there at sunrise and it was very quiet. Go early. The mausoleum is exquisite on a grander scale than I had heard. It truly is amongst the greatest buildings ever created.

Taj is a symbol of the great Mughal heritage of India and of the eternity of love.
No wonder it's one among the seven wonders of the world. The white magnificent marbles add to its beauty. The architecture would make you fall in love with its unique structure. The creator must have really thought over it before building such a magnificent piece of art.

I visited the Taj Mahal for the first time. Absolutely stunning made even more incredible by the fact it’s a mausoleum built and intended for only one person. We went at 6am and the early morning sun glistened on the marble walls. Gorgeous…

The wonder of romance and love!
A building that is beautiful and has to be seen to - exquisite marble structure surrounded by beautiful gardens.
I was amazed of how big it was and how it could be observed from so many angles.
Watched the sunrise and made for great photography.
It is crowded and was a little frustrating at times. Suggest you have a guide who has good knowledge of the history .
A must seec

The pictures do no justice at all.

I was here for work and made time for myself to go see it and it did not disappoint at all. The beauty of the building is just pristine and the grounds are very well taken care of.

If you have some time you have to find a way to get here.

Probably witnessed the best architectural achievement of indo-Islamic architecture ,a perfect example of dedicated love .A must see at least once in a lifetime ,located on the right bank of Yamuna River in a vast Mughal garden that encompasses nearly 17 hectares, that’s amazing .

A must see place , much bigger then i imagined . Beware of a few things . some og the guides know jack about the building while others are full of facts and information . Some will offer to take you to other places and that will going to shops that you dont want to go to as they get commission. Beware the photographers , they will offer to take photographs for 100 rupees each but at the end they want 5000 rupees minimum order . They take photos of tourist on the Lady Di bench but its the wrong one , its the one nearest the Taj . When i pointed this out i was told the photo i had was very old . Presumably they had moved the Taj since Di went . Look at the original photos and you will see. Scammers are everywhere but it does in no way detract from seeing one of the great buildings of the world .

It could not disappoint... It was all I hoped it would be, once inside the site. Wandered up and down all of the various pathways to just observe it from all angles. Just wonderful. Dream come true.

Hi to anyone visiting the Taj Mahal without a guide.
To give you the heads up on the “official tour guides” wearing a land yard with the same title.
They take foreign visitors around for a small tip.
Ours tried to explain the history of the Taj but his English wasn’t the best - he took lots of photos of us, which in all fairness, some were very good.
Showed us inside the mausoleum. When we finished we offered a £10 tip, he was quite indignant and wanted more money. We didn’t want the hassle of him arguing so we paid him what he requested, which was £20 each!!

Seriously! What a total con! 🤣
On our exit we saw another guy being fleeced, he was handing out a fist full of euros!!!

So word of warning! If you do get one make sure you arrange the tip first because it’s definitely not at your discretion!!!

The Tai however is brilliant and a must see

Absolutely, beautiful place to see and the views all around are spectacular. It's set apart from other locations, so somewhat more private.

Taj Mahal is beautiful and intricate. The history makes it even more precious. The tickets are expensive. They provide free water for ticket holders. You should definitely get a guide if only to ward off all the people. The place was mobbed but apparently it wasn’t even that crowded when we visited. There were people everywhere and most were ok. There were many who constantly tried to take selfies with us while walking ahead and pretending like they’re taking their own picture. The stressful and exhausting part was all the people who were minding their own business in addition to those who didn’t. There were also many people dressed up to take photos in the courtyards.

They provide shoe covers before going upstairs in the Taj Mahal. Tourists are only allowed on the fourth floor of the mausoleum where there are replicas of the tombs of the king and queen. The actual tombs are in the basement. There are signs outside of the mausoleum stating no photography. There were a few people walking with their phones taking videos and one was stopped by the police who immediately deleted it.

The entire process was exhausting, from the heat to the people. It is something to view once in a lifetime but not needed to do again.
