Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is The Lake in Lonavala. It lies on side of the road that goes up the hill to the Lion's Point and the air force station.
Lots of corn seller selling smoked corn cobs to tourists and locals. Not much to do part from taking un-ending 'selfies' on the lakeside. All these takes about half and hour, and that is enough to see the natural beauty of this lake.
Then it is time again to board your vehicle and move on towards Lonavala attractions.
I went with my friend and his family during monsoon this year.

Went here with my colleagues from the Akurdi station near Pune. We boarded the train and it took about an hour to reach. Once there, we split into groups and booked cabs for the rest of the journey. The road felt very nostalgic owing to the fact that I have spent a lot of time in the hills of Sikkim. There was mist around, and it was drizzling. One of the most fun things there was having corn near the lake. We crossed the lake to the hill beyond. And while returning from the lake, we lost our way and forged our own path though waist deep water to reach the parking lot, totally soaking wet and very cold. In all, it was absolute fun.
You ll get ample corn and vada pavs here, so, I feel, food should not be an issue. Bargain with the drivers, you can usually reduce the price to about 70% of the quoted price.
Remember to take lots of photos! Have fun!

You can take a local train from Pune Railway station to go to Lonavala. It will cost around 10 rs and drop you at Lonavala Railway station. From there you can hire an auto to Bulshi Dam. You had to negotiate as they can ask any price. The distance of the Bulshi Dam is around 6-8 kms and 100-150 rs is a good price to pay. While going to Bulshi dam you can stop for some time and watch the lake. You must go in rainy season as you will enjoy a lot.

Lonavala is a place where you get fresh and pollution free atmosphere. Best time to visit is winter. Waterfall, nature, rocky mountains etc. are speciality of that place.

The views from Lions Point is wonderful. The place is littered with garbage, empty liquor bottles. The Parking lot is only meant to make money from visitors. The place otherwise is very windy and in times when there is not much of rainfall, it is very dusty and dry.

This place is not so good and very Nasty. There is not much to see anything here other then garbage & plastics thrown around.
I would say LONAVALA & KHANDALA are over Hyped placed but nothing to see in those places except NASTY & garbage & plastics.
Govt of Maharastra can pick these places as a MISSION of "Swatch Bharat Abhayan"
Just writing for one place but other places are also similarly bad.

If you plan to do bird photography near Lonavala this is the place where you should be in January/February as the lake drains out and you can literally walk through photographing birds at various spots where water still remains. water birds and raptors are seen in good numbers
