- Fiona F4 contributionsAn afternoon well spent! On the last day of our trip in India we wanted to do a cookery class to help take a little bit of India back with us - Neema's was a great place to learn and just generally understand a bit more about South Indian cooking. She was very informative and you can tell she has done this fore many years. The food we made was a selection of small dishes all varying in ingredients. Neema makes it interactive by testing your knowledge and teaching about spices. It was just my boyfriend and I who doing the class so very personal which was great! All in all Neema was a great host and we are excited to make the dishes back home in the UK.Visited March 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 26 March 2023
- Gus M1 contributionHighly recommended and good fun.Had a great time. Neema was highly professional and also great fun. We cooked a range of Kerala dishes along with her instructions and then sat down to eat it all. A very enjoyable and educational few hours. Her house is also very interesting, she may show you around, it’s a beautiful building.Visited March 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 30 March 2023
- mcbridesusan14 contributionsNeema’s Kitchen - A Lovely AfternoonA fantastic opportunity to cook some authentic Southern Indian dishes under the watchful eye of Neema. There was a wide variety of food and the instruction was clear. The recipe cards were clear and easy to follow. Just a wee note, you will be asked to pay through Wise (formerly Transfer Wise) and you will need to set up an account. This site is above board but it did make me nervous the first I used it. Again, fantastic afternoon and Neema is incredibly informative. Her home is also stunning.Visited April 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 3 April 2023
- Jakub1 contributionVegan Cooking ClassWhat a fantastic experience at Neema’s kitchen! I’ve been travelling South India for a couple of weeks and as a big foodie, I had to do a cooking class. As a vegan, it was really difficult to find a class that could adapt their recipes to suit me. Neema, not only adapted her recipes, but she ran a fully vegan class which I greatly appreciated. We cooked a total of 6 dishes (all of which were a vegan version of traditional South Indian dishes) and received recipe cards which we were able to take home. Neema was very kind, welcoming, patient and most importantly a fantastic teacher. She also took the time to sit down with us at the beginning and walk us through all the spices that are used in Indian cooking and even talked us through a number of home remedies which I found really interesting! At the end of the session, we sat down and ate all the food that we cooked. The session took around 3.5 hours and was a truly memorable experience. Thank you so much Neema! I can’t wait to go back home and cook all the dishes for my family!Visited April 2023Travelled soloWritten 9 April 2023
- Meg3 contributionsInformative, tasy, relaxed.Neema was a welcoming and informative host. We cooked 6 dishes, all of which tasting amazing and were easy enough that we could try them back home. We loved that we left with a little recipie book of everything we had made. Thank you for having us in your lovely home Neema!Visited April 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 21 April 2023
- Miriam G4 contributionsAmazing- not to be missed!A truly wonderful experience! Neema was an amazing teacher and made us feel so welcome and at home in her kitchen. The class was really hands on and we learnt how to make 7 delicious south indian dishes from scratch- vegetarian as catered for our request! One of the highlights of our 10 week trip in India. Thank you Neema!Visited June 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 26 June 2023
- Anna1 contributionAmazing, authentic cooking classMeeting Neema and being welcomed into her home was so lovely. Very easy to get to from fort Kochi where we stayed (ferry & short walk) and Neema helped us with this when we asked. She was also really helpful in booking and organising. The class itself was very engaging and well run, with lots of the ingredients pre prepared and chopped. You can tell Neema is passionate about her cooking and teaching people about the art of Kerala cuisine. Very nice touch to provide us with the recipes so we can go home and try to replicate the dishes. We also really appreciated that the class can be tailored to a vegetarian diet. Overall would highly recommend this experience.Visited June 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 26 June 2023

- WonderTravKochi (Cochin), India11 contributions" Neema's Class - A Souvenir from Kochi "We love India and so is the food. This time I came all the way with my family to spend few days at Neema's Heritage Property and to attend her class. We booked in advance for our stay and class. She is a passionate cook and a loving teacher, her food is just delicious and her way of taking class is really touching. This session with Neema gave me and my family more experience with Indian food, and we had such a great time. The food we made was absolutely yummy. We all had much fun preparing dinner along with others in our group, and Neema made sure that we prepared our food properly. We made some delicious snacks and desserts too and really enjoyed being taught by her! I can absolutely recommend this experience to anyone wanting to improve their cooking skills. 5 stars!Visited September 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 14 October 2023
- wiktoria p1 contributionMust do experienceNeema was so welcoming, and we got so much insight into how South Indian food is made. She took time to explain why certain spices go together & even their health benefits. It was a lovely touch to have had the recipes printed out in a little booklet, so we can’t wait to cook these dishes at home. Also we were both a bit ill and she was so accommodating, we really appreciated it. Neema was just so much fun & full of kindness. Neema is a force of nature. She is a great chef as well as very good teacher. We thoroughly enjoyed our tour of the local markets and then cooked six dishes and ate them at lunch. We have taken cooking classes in several world cities and consider Neema's Kitchen the best of all of them. You will learn a lot and enjoy yourself.

We had a wonderful experience with Neema in her beautifully designed Kitchen. Like her, the class too was just great. She is a lovely lady with a sweet smile and always happy to help and guide you. Though we were new to South Indian Cuisine, she made sure to teach us in detail.... It's worth a class and if you are foodie then this is the place for you. ... I'm sure you will enjoy being there !!!
Loved the hands on class, the food we made and the time we spent with Neema in her beautiful kitchen.

Amazing, hands-on experience of how to produce some of the best of southern Indian food. A real experience! Neema is a great guide, informative and interactive - but, don't be fooled, she'll have you doing most of the work! Great time had and if Indian cookery is your thing or your curiosity it's not to be missed when in Kochi.

We had a very warm welcome to Neema's kitchen where we were treated to a hands on cookery course for the afternoon. We were provided with written recipes which we followed , with guidance from Neema. We enjoyed the fruits of our labour when we sat down to eat our dishes for dinner. Neema has two on line cookery books which we have. She also has recipes on her YouTube channel "Neema's Kitchen".
We can thoroughly recommend Neema's cookery classes which are great fun

We had a great time with Neema. Right from the start her communication was clear and when we arrived, all the food was set up and ready to go. The food we cooked was extraordinarily good and vindaloo should not be burning hot - rather very fragrant and tasty! We learned a lot by both doing and watching. Would highly recommend Neema’s Kitchen as an excursion in Cochin.

You are introduced to the rich world of spices at the start of the session and then you cook a series of unique South Indian dishes with the watchful eye of Neema. She will guide you the entire way and you end up with a feast to enjoy.

Fantastic cooking course!
Without a doubt the most enjoyable, informative and participatory course we have been on.
The six recipes we made were all interesting and varied; the ingredients fresh and the spices wide ranging which introduced us further to Indian cuisine.
The food hygiene was excellent and the lunch that we had just prepared was delicious

Hi,
I am an Indian and know cooking and cook on a daily basis. I would like to learn a bit about Keralite cuisine. Having said that I’m a pure vegetarian. Would your classes help me. I see in all your photos there are westerners around. I understand they will find it very exciting to try cooking Indian cuisine. Just wondering if it would be worth for a North Indian Vegetarian to try these classes ?
Please give your honest opinion.
Thanks
