    Do Yourself a Flavour!
What a fantastic experience to sit with Meera and Leo, in there home and learn to make five Indian dishes that we got to enjoy. They are both great teachers and they were well prepated. I couldn't think of a better way to spend our last evening in India and can't wait to invite friends over for a curry night. Five stars :)

Lovely People, good teachers, delicious cook
Meera and her husband are lovely people. Meera taught us the art of masala, dal, cooking vegetables and rice. Her husband showed us how to make chapati. Meera took care to write down all the instructions on paper for us to be able to redo the recipes at home. Everything was delicious!!! We really recommend this activity if you are in Kochi. Thank you Meera for giving us this cooking lesson!

    Must do in Kerala!
I popped round a as a solo 23 yea fold in the morning after being directed here by my hostel and Meera was very accommodating, squeezing me into the afternoon as I was leaving early the next day. There’s a choice of veg/ fish/ meat - I opted for the fish and cooked a delicious prawn curry, masala beetroot (Thoran), dal fry, a veg curry, and coconut-jeera rice. It was all delicious and Meera was very helpful on giving tips for alternative ingredients/ storing methods/ and where to buy good utensils in Kochi/ and the different flavours of southern India. Could have asked for a better experience!

Like learning to cook from Mom
This was a really nice experience in Meera and Leo’s kitchen. We found Meera to be a wonderful teacher, who indulged us with our questions about ingredient substitutability, cookware materials, and Malayalam orthography. Leo, who is from a baker’s family, skillfully showed us how to make chapati and porotta.

Great cooking class where all the chopping and other prep we all know how to do is done before you arrive and instead the focus is on information and technique. Me and my girlfriend really enjoyed it.

Meera explains everything so beautifully! She gives you a print out of recipes with easy explanations of how to source certain foods and alternatives also. Everything dish was super tasty and all from scratch! Definitely don’t miss this class, must do for everyone!

Was a great class with Meera. She had prepared a lot before and that made the cooking go very smoothly, food was absolutely brilliant very homely tasting and delicious. If you already cook a lot it is quite simple however still enjoyable. She was very friendly and knowledgeable.

I was introduced by to this cooking class even by very short notice before the holidays when many classes were not available. We made 5 dishes. I was absolutely delighted that the instructor attended my request to have fish. The fish curry with green mango was my first try and just loved it. Looking forward to make again at home for my friends and family. The dry vegetable curry the so called Thoran was made using beet root and carrot, which added very good flavors and umami for the meal. Tomato masala was also very well balanced with the coconut rice and dal. A delicious healthy meal afterwards with rich flavors. Absolutely recommend as an exceptional unique experience of South Indian home cooking. Next time with more days in advance would like to learn how to make dosas. She was very attentive to give instructions to be able to apply to other ingredients.

Today my partner & I attended Meera's cooking class. It was incredible!
We were welcomed into her home as if we were family.
The place if very clean& everything was set up in time for our arrival.
When we went she has 2 times available, arriving at 11am for lunch or 6pm for dinner.
We paid 900 rupiah per person in exchange for learning 5 different dishes specific to the Kerala region. We cooked with Meera & this was a very fun & hands on experience. We cooked for around 1.5 hours and then ate. Meera takes most of the class & then her wonderful husband Leo take you though the steps of how to make the perfect Chappati.
Afterwards we enjoyed our creations. It was such a feast, so delicious & so much fun. This relaxed setting is perfect for cooks & non cooks to enjoy an authentic experience in Fort Kochi & also to meet some wonderful local people.
