Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We hired a Hyundai limo($60) for the 75 mile trip west of Alexandria along the North Coast Highway to visit WW 11 cemeteries and stopped here on the return.
The 1979 Unesco Abu Mena archaeological site is along a dirt lane just to the south of the huge 1959 St. Mena Monastery(Deir Mar Mina) which is in sight of the ruins. While not dramatic it is noteworthy as being the original pilgrimage destination of the sick to the resting place of St. Mena in the 4th-7th Centuries. Carved marble stones lead to the ancient great basilica and baths.

What was once one of the world's most important pilgrimage cities is now a site that still inspires history lovers and devout believers. The site of Abu Mena -as vulenrable as it is- is an extraordinary place with a huge basilica (as evidenced by the remaining structures and the scattered columns) and the ruins of an entire city (houses, streets, workshops, etc).

The place is not great. There is no air-conditioning, so in a hot day you will suffer. The staff are unhappy and it shows. They are slow and the food is not great, though it takes a long time to prepare!! There are much better places nearby
