While this building is an icon and has a lot of history, it is in a horrible state. The bathrooms are disgusting, with bathroom walls and doors inside the bathrooms are hanging off the walls. The ceiling throughout the entire structure is in need of serious repair. I can’t believe that this building passed code. With so much money investors are throwing at new construction, why is the city allowing this building to be utilized without repair?? It could be beautiful if money was put towards fixing this structure instead of money being spent on new condos will million dollar price tags. The management company only cares about the money being brought in, not about proving a safe, clean building for visitors.
P.S. I am a local, so I have seen the downward spiral of this place. Very sad.

I love this theater and hall - very cool architecture and nicely redone. The building is in the middle of the boardwalk with shops, restaurants and restrooms.

I've been seeing shows here for many years. Built so solid you feel the sound from the front to the last row.
If you ever have a chance go to a show here.
It's in Asbury on the boardwalk so it's a great place to wander before and after the show with plenty of places to eat , drink and shop.
Asbury is still filled with history even though there's tons of building going on.
Thumbs up for nostalgia psyched to see little Steven this year.

The Paramount Theatre was built sometime in the 1920's but unfortunately the depression hit and it finished more simply than other theatres of the same time.
That being said it is a good venue for concerts - several people complain about the acoustics but my experience was more that the sound engineer did not balance the bass, treble etc. correctly giving a very loud sound that was clearly unbalanced.
The really good feature of the theatre is the great visibility from all seats. Even high in the balcony the stage is easily seen.

The theatre is also right on the boardwalk which makes it a good place to end a day out on the beach. Several restaurants are close and all in all it is a good place to go.

Free street parking between Labor Day and Memorial Day in and around the Paramount Theater and Convention Center. I went in November to see a performance of the "Nutcracker". It's and iconic venue and if you can appreciate historic theaters that have maintained their charm, it is well worth seeing this venue. The theater is about the size you would expect at your typical Broadway theater. The seats are comfortable being both reasonably spacious with enough leg room for this 6' man. The seats even recline a bit. There is no musty odors which I was concerned about due to it's age and location. The bathrooms are also clean. Tickets can be obtained for the orchestra, Loge, lower balcony or upper balcony depending upon the performance. Sometimes tickets can be purchased at the door just before the show. Sight lines wonderful and the acoustics are exceptional. Get there early and go up to the upper balcony just to see the Atlantic Ocean and a great view of the stage. The Nutcracker was put on by the Performing Arts Ensemble which is a non-profit dance company. The costumes were of Broadway quality and the scenery was professional. It brought great holiday cheer to all who attended I'm sure. Tickets are reasonably prices from $23 - $15 for children. There are many opportunities to see this historic theater with free Friday Night movies like Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory or Taxi Driver. Winterfest 2017 is a popular event featuring many bands.

We took a stroll in here while in Asbury Park. Nice little shops as well as a theatre. Also has a nice restaurant that has a bar that you can hang out on the side beach.

The Paramount Theater & Convention Hall is located on the boardwalk and has several shops. It looks like it is in need of some TLC but it is worth your while to pop into some of the shops as they have a unique selection.

The formerly grand Paramount is looking pretty shabby. It has historic significance and should be saved. Convention Hall is likewise dreary and decaying. Why can't the landlords do something with these venues? They are in constant use, but a downer of a visit when your eyes leave the stage.

This theater has been redone not too long ago. It is absloutely beautiful. We sat in the balcony, which I think had better sound quality than the first floor. The art work inside the theater is gorgeous. In the summer evenings the boardwalk is loaded with free entertainment and it is at such a scenic setting on the Jersey shore.
