Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Forced labour, endless torture, life imprisonment……This is not Oswiecim, but the popular Sun Asia Ocean World in the beautiful coastal city of Dalian, China. While dolphin, porpoise and whale keeping and shows are increasingly being restricted and banned in most of the developed world, China has shown a growing interest in importing those sea mammals to the aquariums. The aquarium has basically no nature education to the public, and dolphin and walrus shows are just for fun—not a single word about their habitat or natural habits is mentioned. Polar bears, seals and sea lions in extremely cramped conditions all show repetitive and compulsive behaviours, deprived of their rights to see a ray of sunlight in their lifetimes. Interestingly, the park’s reviews from Chinese visitors are overwhelmingly positive, while those from foreign tourists are primarily negative, because there is limited awareness in China that animals in zoos and aquariums are for conservation and education, not for generating money and for fun. Children tap on the glass and adults use flash to take pictures, and the nearby staff do nothing about it—they work just for receiving money for animal feeding. Every ‘star’ animal is a cash cow for the stakeholders, but their living conditions have not been improved by an inch—exactly as what I saw 25 years ago. Every penny you spend on the ticket is a further hurt on the animals. Stop visiting it!

If you want to be sad go here. Ocean world is fine but do not go to Polar world, it was the saddest thing I have ever seen. A giant polar bear in glass box barely bigger then he was. And it's all really run down. I read elsewhere they lost a lot of penguins due to poor conditions. It's just horrible conditions for the animals.

Hell on earth for all the poor animals imprisoned in this vile place. They are in distress, discomfort and and they are unable to act on their natural instincts. The Polar Bear is particularly tragic. Absolutely disgraceful place. Avoid. Avoid. Avoid. No not give them your money.

Ripped from the wild and placed into tiny chlorine filled tanks. All animals show extreme stress . Do not give them any money , these places belong in the Victorian era. Avoid like the plague

One a recent business trip, following reviews I read online, I decided to see this place for myself. It exceeded all my worst expectations about animal welfare and treatment. Whales in absolutely miserable conditions, kept in enclosures horrifically small. Trainers riding beluga whales, dolphins captured in Taiji on the guise of research but in reality forced to die in tanks too small for them, and a sad, bored polar bear.
When I tried to talk to the staff and trainers, no one would engage.
Places like Sun Aisa Ocean World as unethical, cruel relics that should be consigned to the history books.
Do not take your children here. There is nothing "fun" or "happy" or "educational" about the animal/mammal abuse witnessed in parks like this, and every penny you spend contributes to their existence. I'm won't ever forget this place for all the wrong reasons.

Detailed explanations of the life of jelly fish, corals and so on. I learned a lot, and enjoyed the fish, seals etc. The bird enclosure was particularly good but quite strenous

We visited this and the aquarium, this sea world option was more spacious and the shows were also good and I’d say slightly better than other ocean attractions I’ve seen. The bird stuff is really cool, I would not recommend the paddle boats, the operators didn’t care a thing about us, we felt like an inconvenience to them. It would be fantastic for young families. Their animal care standards are low, which is consistent with just about everywhere in China, but better than other places I’ve seen.

When I can say stop supporting animals business. I’ve been to Dalian Sun Asia on a business matter . The conditions of animals are horrible. I’ve seen with my eye how how those animals trainers treat animals. I’ve seen dolphins and Belugas die because they conditions is the worst
