It is touristical but in a friendly way you will spend a nice day either taking a boat in the canal ot strolling through the area and having a tea in the teahouse that overlooks the canal

Had a nice stroll down the alley with a. Canal along the side last evening. Saw many unique shops with tea, tranditional medicine, silk, art, etc. also a lot of tasty street food and a few interesting restaurants.

It's quite nice to visit at night. But if you are short of time and can visit only one place, I would prefer Shantang Street anytime.

This was an interesting walk up from the underground station to the Humble Administrators Garden. There are numerous shops and food outlets. There are also glimses of how the early chinese lived.

They are a bit like crab apples in the uk. Sour and then covered in molten sugar a bit like mini toffee apples.
