Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We visited Wuhan (one of the four furnace cities in China famous for intense Summer heat) in July. It's very hot everywhere in the city. We had to go out in the morning/night and stay indoor in the afternoon. We enjoyed a morning walk along Dong Hu Lv Dao in East Lake. I love their scenic views, lotus flowers, and cool breeze along the lake. They have nice pedestrian walkways along the lake. Plenty of tree shades and benches made it a very relaxing and enjoyable walk. The park is huge. If you don't want to walk, there are shuttles (not free) going around the park. The shuttle routes and transfer stations are a bit confusing. We had to ask for people's help. Luckily Wuhan people are very friendly, so we did not have any trouble finding our way at all.

I am a native of Wuhan, and I often take some foreign guests to visit Wuhan. For me, East Lake is: If you like the natural scenery, East Lake is a good choice. Walking on the lakeside, weeping willow, lotus pond, stone bridge, landscape of lakes and mountains, too beautiful to be absorbed all at once. Occasionally you can see one or two wild ducks playing on the lake. When you are tired, you can take a rest on the stone bench by the side of the lake and enjoy the beautiful scenery of the sunset. In this situation, time will be very slow, and you will enjoy the nourishment of nature.

It is quite by the lake. Our group had come for a retreat, and in our free time we went for a 90-minute walk around the lake to enjoy the peaceful lake views, other scenery and the seemingly non-polluted air.

It is a very pleasant place to take a relaxing walk. Amble along and enjoy the serenity. There is a nice tower to climb with a good view, and the bathrooms behind th KFC franchise on site ar excellent.

Water caltrop found is slow moving shallow waters of parts of East Lake, is an edible nut or seed. Due to its shape, it is also known by the names buffalo nut, bat nut, and mustache nut, and in Europe as the European water chestnut. It is the fruit (shelled nut) of a floating aquatic plant found in Eurasia and parts of Africa. In China it is eaten both as part of a main meal or dessert.

We visited East Lake early in the morning and it was not crowded. We took the option of a trolley ride so we could see as much as possible. The lake and views are stunning, we loved the Lotus Ponds and luckily saw some flowering. Well worth a visit.

It's a huge lake, so pick your spot. We saw from the south end near Wuhan University. I rode a HelloBike bicycle along the lake, which was fun.
