Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A very nice Sandy beach with clear and clean water.
It is a public one so be ready to be bothered by many outsiders.
Very far from any attraction or even resturants or cafes.
Bring your own stuff as you will find nothing there

We had some really good sunny days in Sanya Bay. The water is quite warm and you can usually find a spot on the beach to put your stuff. The coconut corridor walk is nice and you can find quite a few prime eating spots and bars around Sanya Bay. To see a good view from up high go to Luhuitou Park or a rooftop bar in the area. Please note that the bay is not always safe to swim and you have to keep an eye on the flags. Best to see the bay when it is sunny and clear or during sunset.

Nice long fantastic beach. It is a great place to relax when not overcrowded. The locals are friendly and helpful, even to people with a very limited 4-word Chinese vocabulary. Beach and water were clean during our visit. Nice sunset views.

Possibly due to COVID-19, and the rainy days of late, the normal June crowds were not here. It has been peaceful over the past few months. A great place to come for a relaxing vacation.

Enjoyable beach walk. There were few people at the beach, and those that were, wore breathing masks. People are avoiding going out due to the coronavirus epidemic.

Is this the concept of forever tropical paradise? People spitting, urinating and littering anywhere? Trying to pickpocketing or harassing you to follow them for seafood restaurants or trying to sell you rooms or even "massage parlour". I would not call it paradise maybe forever chaotic(al) hell. There is the need to really understand what means paradise and what means beach management. There is no proper tourism concept. The best stay in Sanya is to keep one week closed in a top 5 star hotel and fly out. Not much too see apart fake cultural places and artificial cultural parks. There are far better places in south east Asia which offer better tourism attraction and better facilities..

Lots of unique architecture and exciting things to do at Sanya Bay. It is a year-round resort area. A great place to go for an energizing walk, a stroll on the beach, people-watching, or sightseeing.

I've been coming to Sanya Bay since 2006 and I've never experienced the excessive crowds, "painful sand", dirt (except to the extent that all sand is "dirt") or smells noted by others. I suspect that they may be visiting at other times of the year. (My visits have all been during the period from February to May.)

Last month (March), I was here for a week but took trips to Da Dong Hai and Yalong Bay. Although I would agree that Da Dong Hai is the nicer beach because of it's slight horseshoe shape, view of mountains to the side and the existence of for-rent lawn chairs and thatched parasols, Sanya Bay's beach was less crowded. The area around Haiyue Square is the most crowded area on Sanya Bay but that is just a small part of the beach. And Yalong Bay's public beach area has deteriorated and shrunk. When I was at Yalong Bay last month, the public beach was wall-to-wall people.

The reason I like Sanya Bay is precisely because it is less crowded and less touristy than Sanya's other beaches. (/You could also say that it is "more Chinese" than the others.)

Before I came to Sanya, all my Chinese friend told me SanyA is a beautiful beach and excellent place for holiday, a lot of seafood to indulge and is like the Miami beach in China.
Guess what all these are lie. I went to the city of SanyA yesterday, the places is dirty, the streets is full of garbage, the toilets in the mall and restaurant are disgusting, and the beach is not as beautiful as what you see in the website. How could a place like this being voted as the most tourist attraction destination?
I could say China is one of the most powerful country in the world and why would the government do something about it to beautifying the city and make it clean? Besides according to the locals, SanyA is the place mostly visited by the government authorities and how could they not see what I see as a tourist?
So if you want to visit SanyA, thank twice before you do it because the flight is not cheap and you need to transit in different city in order to fly to SanyA.

This beach was my home base for the 14 days here. I was staying in apartments near Sheraton Four Points Hotel and just a couple of hundred metres to the beach. I have loved my morning runs along the beach when the tide would let me. I think it is fantastic to see all the dancing and music activity on the beach at nit with the older folk is great to watch. There is a lot of road works being undertaken on Sanyawan Lu, so it's a little bit of a mess in spots and chaotic for traffic. I felt safe although an incident with a crotch grabbing weirdo was an unexpected surprise.
Overall I really enjoyed being here in SanYa Bay
