We went there on a windy day. Not a good place on a windy day! pretty spot with steep drive down to the rocky beach area. All the rocks on the beach are interesting.

The road here is very steep down to the bay but from the top there is a good view of the beach and the ball shaped rocks on the shore. The fuel tanks for the islands storage are nearby also.

Once again great location with the coastline never failing to impress. Wonderful views and great photo opportunities.

Certainly worth driving to on your tour around the island. This is where they bring the fuel into but we've never been there when this was happening.

Drive down to the end of Marsh's Rd to see Ball Bay. This bay is filled with large, dark, black, ball-shaped rocks like cannonballs. There is a fuel depot here and what appears to be a pipeline from the water's edge. There is a picnic table...More

Ball Bay is a very beautiful picnic area which has an easy boardwalk to the beach, where you can swim in protected water, although is only suitable for cooling down and paddling as there are lots of round basalt rocks between the sandy patches.

We visited Ball Bay because a guide had mentioned that it was one of the best places to see a volcanic crater. It was certainly impressive. As others have said, the road down is very steep. We shared the parking spot at the end with...More

My favourite spot because it was so quiet, the rocks so interesting, the little rock pools had lots of fun creatures, and big waves. A pleasant place to take time out - the driveway down is fairly steep though! No picnic area

I was intrigued for historical reasons to find Ball Bay reserve, and it did not disappoint. Quite a steep little drive down to the Bay, however it is so pretty and if you stop a while, you can imagine how this might have been for...More

Ball Bay is one of those beautiful bays in lovely isolation that shares its existence with the LPG and fuel terminals. These are discreetly positioned with all safety precautions. It is an amazing and important place and life line for the island community. Even more...More
