My wife and I had a great, 1-night get away which included a bike ride at the nearby rail trail. Delicious breakfast in the morning. Beautiful setting. Terrific service.

If you're looking for a relaxing day and a nice walk or bike ride you can't go wrong. People along this trail are generally very kind and considerate. There are plenty of benches to sit and enjoy the view or to enjoy a picnic lunch...More

Many well marked parking areas with access to the trail. Plenty of wildlife. Nice paved path. Wish the weather had co-operated, only got to walk about 1/3 of it in two attempts.

I have now rode the trail three times in the past two years. I live more than an hour from the trail, but the trip is worth it. It is a beautiful trail, especially in the Fall. The trail has been extended north from Adams,...More

We rode this trail in October and enjoyed fall foliage and lake views. Since the trail is a converted railway, the elevation changes are gradual and make a very pleasant bike ride that is not physically challenging. There are at least three entry points on...More

This is a stellar ride with wonderful views, lots of water (a reservoir, streams, marshlands, babbling brooks, waterfalls and small dams), and mountain views the whole way. Nicely paved with any frost heaves clearly marked. The trail, with the latest added mile is just about...More

Wonderful trail for biking, walking, skating, running. If you begin by the Berkshire mall it is about a 25 mile round trip. We biked it and it was a nice tame workout. The first 5 miles are lakeside, then mountainside and finally through Adams, continuing...More

We were vacationing in the Berkshires for leaf peeping and wanted to ride our bikes. Our innkeeper told us about this trial. We rode 5 miles from the Berkshire Mall parking area to Cheshire where you can see the Bass Water Grill from the path....More

This is a 10.8 mile paved trail. We walked only three miles and went back to car. Would love to come back and bike the entire length. Highly recommend this trail. Both men's and women's rest rooms at parking lot. Much better than Kennedy Park...More

We only walked 4 miles up the trail and back. Hope to increase or start at another point the next time. During the 2 miles from the Berkshire Mall (parking was full on both sides of the street of the trail), we found it easy...More

Timbo's in Cheshire, where the trail crosses Route 8 about half way to Pittsfield, right across the road from Cheshire Lake.

This is who we used: Berkshire Outfitters. They had good bikes and were reasonable. More importantly, they were open.
