Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Such a beautiful modernistic representation of the Catholic Church. It was tranquil, well lit and had a large amount of thought and creativity go into its design. I particularly liked the stations of the cross at the far end.
A truly fabulous work of art.

I had never seen any churches like that throughout traveling all over the World. The architect did a phenomenal job with the design, with the arched roof, and the natural light flowing though the panels on each side. The air flows through this design, making it so cool and comfortable in there. An absolute must do while in San Salvador!

This was the first stop of our city tour of San Salvador. From the outside it looks like anything but a church. The curvature of the structure with the colored glass is mesmerizing to see with the sun moving across the sky.

Relatively recent church. Built in 1971 and designed by Salvadoran architect Ruben Martinez. Externally it is probably the ugliest church on a planetary level. Everything changes once you cross the threshold. A play of solar lights due to the windows creates a unique and very suggestive environment.
It seems that everything has a meaning, and that is not to judge a person by their external appearance alone.
The church is a block from the Metropolitan Cathedral and admission, for foreigners, is $2.

There's quite a history to this beautiful church. I loved the colorful windows with light shining through and the amazing art done with scrap metal, including the signs of the cross stations. Have been to hundreds of churches around the globe and never seen anything like this one.

Located in front of Plaza Libertad, this church is located. It seems to be closed, but the entrance is through the street on the right. The cost of the visit depends on whether you are local or foreign. It has certain hours for visits. Inside you can see the beautiful colors that reflect the stained glass windows at the top, a very pleasant tranquility, worthy of a church, its history and importance in Salvadoran culture, is worth remembering year after year.
A must visit if you are in the city center.

was really pleasenly surpised by the Iglesia El Rosario - its got massive cultural significance and history, yet from the outside I genuinely thought it was an old abandoned building.
The multicoloured glass windows are disguised behing concrete grouting from the outside, so the floor to ceiling rainbow inside was a real pleasant surprise.
Some really beautiful modern religious sculptures too - definitely worth a quick stop in if you're in san slavador

Beautiful church and the lighting cannot be explained in words. It’s too beautiful and you’d never know you were in a Catholic Church.
It’s right down in the city center, so it’s easy to get around. They only ask for a donation to enter, so it’s cost efficient.

Magnificent church to discover. When you are in front of it, you have the impression of an abandoned building as the exterior architecture is austere and modern. Entrance is sideways. When you arrive, ladies are asked not to enter wearing shorts. Pashminas are provided and distributed. Once inside, you are immediately dazzled by the hints of color. Very modern architecture. On your right at the back as you return, don't miss the different stations, completely opposite to what you might imagine. I was accompanied by a guide. Admission: $2. I recommend !

It is located accross from the Libertad Plaza. Looking from outside, it does not seem like a church to me and not very appealing. Entrance is on a small street to its right. Fee to enter is $2.00 for foreigners, cheaper for locals.
The altar is simply decorated with a cross. There are few religious statues located infront of the altar. What is interesting are the lights emanating from the two sides of this church.Truly beautiful and amazing!
