Very nice experience. There was a magic aura all around. Museum itself is a house of Bulgakov family with original furniture and atmosphere of the last century.

Olga, our guide in the Bulgakov Museum was one of the best guides I have ever had. Not only because of her great knowledge but also because of her Russian spirit what I have always admired. At the end of her tour full of mysterious...More

The house 'White Guard' is written about. A well organised insight into Bulgakov and his family. Read some of his work first.

I really liked Mikhail Bulgakov's appartment. What I can recommend is signing up for a tour in English as I took one in Russian, as such was only available when I came there and I didn't understand almost anything, which is a pity.

Fantastic that they have preserved his home as a museum. Very knowledgeable guide. And huge collection of his books in many different languages

You might visit here thinking you can walk round at your own pace like many museums. You can't. You will be asked to go on a "tour". If you choose not, you can look around but will be scrutinised by the cheerless staff as you...More

If you've read Bulgakov's works, a visit to the Mikhail Bulgakov Museum is a must. The tour is really a story of Bulgakov's life in Kiev (the tour is given in the house where he lived), mixed with theatrical accoutrements, in the spirit of the...More

it's more the location than anything else. This is how those early Russian streets would have looked before the vast Soviet-style architecture took hold. The museum is well worth a look but booking is essential as it gets busy.

Charming place for all admirers of Mikhail Bulgakov, Interesting hint - the items belonged to the family are natural, the items which didn't (but still from that epoch) - are painted in white. Possible to buy interesting books about the writer and Kiev of that...More
