I used the Kiev Funicular a handful of times and it was a fun experience with a frequent service and cheap at 8 UAH for a single journey bought from the ticket kiosk. The base level station Nyzhnya stantsiya is adjacent to Poshtova Ploshcha Metro...More

We like this kind of transport when we are on our walking trip. We are starting from the funicular (upper point) then Desyatinna str, Andriivsii descent walk along Podol. Then Petra Sahaidachnogo str and Kyiv River Port when we can buy some food ( there’re...More

The view is spectacular but moght be very limited if you go up when it's foggy. We waited until the fog dispersed before riding up, it's a sort of ground cable car, on top there is a pretty blue church and a few places to...More

With funikular you can avoid to climb. It is easy to find, because you must go to Postova Plosha metro station. Ride costs 8 hrivnas, and takes about 2 minutes.

This is a great thing to see if you are a transport nerd and like this sort of thing. Like the metro, the stations are beautifully presented. The Funicular itself is impressively low tech, as you would expect for something a century old. Even if...More

As part of long walking day around Kiev this seemed good idea to short cut a last climb! Really nice entrance hall and interesting dual rails for part of the trip. Downside was the carriages so full that only a few people could realistically see...More

Experience exactly like underground railway, except you go up. Very crowded, can't see a thing from there. Stations are kind of nice, and it costs virtually nothing, so you can visit probably.
