We had the most amazing private tours with Max Dubravko Fijacko of DestinaTours in Zagreb and around Slovenia. We had one day left in Croatia before moving on to Ljubljana. We told Max about our interests and he skillfully put together a great set of private tours that made both the last leg if our Croatia trip and the first leg of our Slovenia stay come together nicely.
Day 1 was a Wine and Food Walking Tour of Zagreb. We had 7 Croatian wines from all around the country, paired with various Croatian dishes. We walked around lower and upper town for some local history, then went to a 400-year old wine cave for our first tasting stop. We finished at a local restaurant for the last tasting stop.
Day 2 Max drove us from Zagreb, Croatia to Slovenia. In the morning we toured around Lake Bled and had Bled Cream cake at a lakeside cafe. We walked through beautiful Vintgar Gorge, stopped by the village of Radovljica, and then he dropped us off at our hotel in Ljubljana. Before he left back to Zagreb, he gave us a walking tour of Ljubljana.
Max Dubravko Fijacko had a wealth of knowledge about Balkans history and culture. He is a very accommodating guide. You tell him what you would like to do in Croatia and Slovenia and he can set you up with a great trip with transportation. He is also a WSET and comes from a wine producing family…he knows where the good food and wine spots are for sure! If you are thinking about visiting Croatia, I highly recommend touring with Max Dubravko Fijacko!

There is no better word than - perfect, to describe our experience. It was last minute decision to travel to Croatia. We found Destinatour here on TripAdvisor and this was our best decision. We know it now. We saw the best of northern Croatia in 5 unforgettable days. First two days we spend in Zagreb, walking around, tasting some great food and wine. Then we had a day trip to some castles in the north and another amazing city of Varazdin. The best of all was the visit of local wine producers. We will always remember it.
Next two days we were traveling in the area, visiting different wine producers in regions of Zagorje and medjimurje. We experienced many different local attractions that we will never found on our own. One of the best places that we stayed was actually small resort in the vineyard.
We really love the whole experience on this tour and we'd like to recommend it to everyone. Same as we decided to go on tour with guys from Destinatour after we've seen the recommendations here. Everything was perfect: transportation, our guide Tin, local guides and all their recommendations. We didn't have any detail to think about. Our guide had all the solutions or recommendations. Real vacations for us!

Four of us embarked on an amazing trip through Istria, Julian Alps, Lubjiana, Zagreb and Croatian countryside with the most knowledgeable and entertaining guide, Max. The trip was well thought out and planned, but, also open to changes. We were so impressed with his knowledge of history. Accommodations, special restaurants, vineyard and farm stay were remarkable. Then, add the beautiful scenery and special tours and we haven't stopped talking about the trip!
Thanks for a memorable visit to Croatia. We all want to return!

We were looking for a tour of Zagreb and a way to get to Budapest, but didn't see the bus would be a good option for 3 people. I found Max on tripadvisor so booked him. He was beyond amazing. Aside from planning our two day, multi-city tour and transportation he made sure we had all the details we needed as we were planning to meet up. Everything was planned down to the T. Our tour of Zagreb was so interesting and Max was the best person to walk us through the history and keep us entertained with stories. There is so much we would have missed if it wasn't for Max's increadible knowledge of everything . . and I mean everything. He even made it fun for our 15 year old.
On top of simply the best tour, I left my hat in the drivers car after arriving in Zagreb. Max worked with the driver and they found a way to get my hat to Budest. This was no small feat, and I can't even explain how reassuring it is to have a tour guide who goes to this length. I highly recommend booking with Max and know you'll be in the best hands, which can be so reassuring when you are travelling to somehwere you have never been.

This was really amazing! From the very beginning and first emails. Customer service: 5 star.
We were picked up by our guide Vito right on time and greeted with a very warm welcome. He was very chatty, friendly and it was an immediate good feeling. Our guide was the best ever. So interesting, informative, but fun in the same time. No boring years, numbers or informations.
He was really funny, welcoming and accommodating when it came to needing a stop.
We must confirm we enjoyed every minute of this two weeks tour.
Would recommend this tour and it may seems a lot but trust me worth every penny.
Thank you very much Vito! You are an asset to the team and a super friendly, welcoming and funny guy! Have a great future!

My wife and I had a 2-week Zagreb-Slovenia -Istria tour at the end of September.
We are fortunate to find Max online as our guide for the entire 2 weeks, he is knowledgeable, flexible to the planned routes to suit our mood. He was very responsible, and treated his job seriously. He knew when to leave us alone to explore on our own pace but only after showing us the place first and then making sure we knew which restaurants were worth trying.
This is our 2nd trip to Croatia. During our 1st trip we arranged our own accommodation which were nothing special. However this time we let Max to organise, and the accommodations he arranged were exceeding our expectation. the accommodation in the cities were all conveniently located and served good breakfast, some with great view. As he knew that we like to experience local food and countryside, he arranged our stays in a winery which has an excellent restaurant, and 2 nights at 2 different farms where the hosts showered us with their geniun hospitality, especially at B&B OPG Culig where the welcome drink lasted 3 hours with homemade liquor, endless wine from their own cellar, cold meat and cheese plater, crepe with homemade plum jam.
It's a great trip and we fully enjoyed it.

Max provided us (my wife and I) with a great private 4-day tour of northern Croatia and Slovenia. Our flights were delayed and schedules need to be adjusted. Not a problem for Max. He adjusted our tour schedule so we were able to see all the sights on our list plus some nice surprise along the way. Max arranged for our local transportation (driver in a new Mercedes van), hotels and most of our meals. All were excellent. We visited Zagreb, Plitvice National Park, Rovinj, Pula, Julian Alps, Lake Bled, Ljubljana and more. Max is a wealth of information about the local area and we thoroughly enjoyed his company. I highly recommend Max if you are visiting Croatia and are interested in a private guide services.

My first time in Europe was definitely well worth it! Croatia was made more amazing with our head tour guide, Max (Dubravko Fijacko) and his team. We are a group of 12 persons and we always feel at ease when Max is around. He was treating us with so much care and consideration. We felt so well attended especially when we had a few mishaps during the trip. He was able to indulge us on the great culture that Croatia had and answered our request of including a Game of Thrones themed tour. We really loved taking photos and he never rushed us whenever we do take our time to take the perfect shot. He let us enjoy such great meals and considered everybody's food preferences. Also our nightly accommodations to different locations were very spacious and always had a beautiful view/distance. I am sure that I will soon be homesick of Croatia, even if I've only been there once, I hope to go back soon. If not another tour with Max would be great too! We miss Croatia already!!!

I just got back from an 11 day trip to Croatia, including a few days in Slovenia and Bosnia, with Destinatour. It exceeded my expectations. I had joined several other tour groups before but I would have to rank Max, our tour guide, as one of my all time faves. He was always punctual, everything was arranged flawlessly for us, and he was so generous with his time and passionate about showing us the best Croatia has to offer. Kudos also to our amazing driver Tommy, and to the other local guides who were all knowledgeable in their respective regions. I came home with nothing but the best memories of beautiful Croatia and it is thanks to Destinatour.

our agency is using cars and vans for transfers. It depends how many people are in the group. For 2 or 3 pax we use comfortable A/C car, for 3, 4 or more people we use A/C minivan.
I hope it is always god enough because all vehicles are new, licenced and very comfortable. Our guides/drivers are very good drivers, with clean driving record and registered for transfer service.
