I had a few nights in Papeete before flying on . My first night back I was having a quiet late afternoon drink and notices the smell of food, as I was hungry I fo;;owed my nose to the waterfront. The Roulottes were just setting...More

All the trucks here are mostly serving the cruise ship folks but the taste, cooking and local atmosphere are worth the trek from your hotel. Meals cost average 1800-2500 XPF so its way cheaper than hotel or even some restaurant fare, but it’s the scene...More

We got here early so we sat in the park and watched the trucks set up. First let me say, it wasn't like the food truck experience we're used to. These are, literally, mobile restaurants. They take the time to set up tables and chairs,...More

We found the food trucks on our first visit to Papeete and again we ate every meal here. There is a selection of six or eight trucks with a range of food experiences to sample from sushi and sushimi to Chinese and bar-b-que dishes. Only...More

The trucks opened at 6:00 on the waterfront. From reading other reviews I expected a few more trucks. We had the crepes from the crepe truck and noodles with vegetables and won ton soup from the Asian truck. Nothing fancy but the food was good...More

We had seen this on a food show and sought it out on two occasions. The first visit we were caught in a torrential down pour but huddled under a canopy of one of the trucks eating our pad thai. The second visit was more...More

Our second time in Papeete but our first time to try the La Roulottes, sorry we missed this experience the first time. The food was awesome and plentiful at a very good price. A very unique atmosphere nothing like this in our previous travels

Overall this was worth the experience as it is a lively atmosphere along the water front. There was little variety in food choices the the fish and chicken from Dominique were good and the crepe from the burger/crepe truck was decent. I did see one...More

After traveling around the islands for a couple weeks we spent one night in Papeete and I was thrilled about the reasonably priced food and so many choices

Sorry no longer in Papeete but if you ring Tourist Information Office in town they are very helpful and would most likely know or be able to find out for you, you could try calling or emailing them :) Happy christmas!

It's quite a way and as the roulettes start at 6pm it would be dark. Maybe 7or 8kms away. Best would be to get a taxi or your resort might have a tour to go. The road and being nighttime would really not be suitable for you... More
