Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Absolutely gorgeous building. Loved the building alone let alone some beautiful artwork. Really lovely local artist pieces. Very reasonably priced pearls too and a lovely looking cafe out the back.

The Beachcomber building is beautiful. There are some pricey souvenirs but many were items we hadn't seen anywhere else and we did purchase quite a few things. The cafe out the back is very average selling sandwiches, salads and coffee.

The Cafe at the Beachcomber is probably my favourite cafe in the cook Islands, lovely cakes and coffee, funky retro vibe with a Vinyl Club and Record player so you can sit and listen to records, great beach views and lovely friendly English couple who run/own the cafe..... We have been to Rarotonga a few times and always revisit this cafe almost daily......

We always have to make some purchases here. I appreciate there are some local artists that sell in this venue as well. I look for Kay George's fabric art here. I like to purchase a couple of pieces as well as checking out the pearls and making a purchase or two. When people from the resort want locally made gifts and pearls this is one place i recommend and they will always find something.

the Saturday markets are a must visit
There's loads of things to buy from small souvenirs to top quality hand crafted wood drums and Cook Island Ukulele's
The fresh squeezed juices sold by the bottle are excellent and there are loads of local delights to fill up empty tummy's
Definitely go!

The art and pearls are beautiful, the cafe has great muffins and coffee. The one staff at the pearl market was so friendly and helpful but the other (a non-cook islander) was quite rude and couldn't give us the time of day. We did however buy a drawing and the other ladies politeness made up for the arrogant one.

This shop carries quality art, decor items, pearl jewelry, and fittings where you can pick your settings and your own pearls and marry the two and truly have a one of kind piece that you have choosen!
This time we bought a one of kind piece. As usual we also took 2 sets of friends there 2 different times and each couple bought something!
This is a mid priced store but you can find less expensive pieces of jewelry set in silver and others set in gold.
Beautiful selection and to me it is important I know the reputation of the store and I have absolutely no worries! I'm not travelling all the way from Canada to worry am I being ripped off! I don't care if an item is $100 or $500 or $5000 I know in this shop I'm getting exactly what I paid for!
Please feel free to check my other trip advisors on other reputable places to shop in Raro.
There are 4 attractions in this building. There is an art gallery out behind, with some wonderful local art, a great coffee shop and another art, home decor, type shop.

We bought some nicer souvenirs here. Not inexpensive, but nice stuff.

There's a cafe in the back if you'd like a coffee. Also, apparently David Bowie climbed through some window in this building in some movie or music video back in the day.

Stopped in as we were walking past and pleasantly surprised, the staff were friendly, informative & knowledgeable about all things pearl.
We purchased a silver ring and matched it with a beautiful black pearl that we picked up the next morning when it was fitted.
Though the receipt showed up as Bergman & Son Pearls the staff here were much more friendlier than the main store which we didn't like.
