Amazing, stonework, boulder placement, carving!
Jan 2020
Amazing stonework, boulder placement, carving! Easy to overlook among the massive structure known as Machu Picchu. Once again, I cannot say how important it is, hire a guide for your exploration of Machu Picchu and the Sacred Valley! A guidebook is nice, but trying to read while traversing the stone steps and obstacles would be a challenge.

Very large piece of rock

Good luck if you can see the shape of the Condor here, as with many of these sights, a lot is up to interpretation of the viewer and their beliefs. Condors here, pumas there....

Amazing Temple
Oct 2019
One of the spóts to visit before you die. For the landscapes, for the mountains, for what I leave that civilization, for the conditions in which that city was preserved (to thank the Spaniards for never having found it). In the centre of the citadel you get to visit temple of the Condor, when you do the walking tour. We really loved it with the explanation of our guide. Highly recommend to visit Machu Picchu with a guide! or contact local guide Marko Andinauta.

Sacred temple with condor shaped rocks
Oct 2019
A mix of natural rock formations and hand-made adaptations to look like a condor that Will take the death soul to the sky. A fascinating count that your guide will make it memorable. In itself it is not a sophisticated remains like a Greek or Roman one, but charged with sacred meaning from the Inca culture

Inca Stonemasonry

The Incas took a natural rock formation and shaped it into th outspread wings of a condor. On the floor of the temple you can see a rock that is carved in the shape of the condor's head and neck. You need someone to point it out to you but once seen you can follow the shape easily.

A unique outcrop in MP
Jul 2019
This "temple" is unique to MP. It's been named "temple of the condor" because of the rocky outcrops that resemble (with imagination) outstretched wings combined with the carving on the floor. You can only view from a distance. Again just remember that there is absolutely no evidence to support what the guides say, just go with it, after all they used to say it supported a prison...
