I had the most beautiful experience on my 3 day retreat at Etnikas. The psychologists Luz and Mayorie, Doctor Yandi and nurses Mishel and Luzma were so helpful and kind. The shamans Danilo, Melia and Rosita had such a beautiful energy and performed 2 very meaningful ceremonies for my group. They put so much energy into the singing for each specific participant.
Oh and Liliana who led us in our pre ceremony mediations was such a beam of love and light. Her messages of love helped me so much during the ceremonies.

The retreat location is absolutely stunning. It’s so peaceful and tucked away in the mountains. Lots of stairs though, if walking is difficult for you, then this will be challenging.

I lucked out and had an amazing group of people that I really connected with. Reading some of the negative reviews it seems some people had a bad time because the other participants in their group weren’t respecting the ceremonies and the overall experience.

One of the other complaints I’ve read is that they don’t follow the itinerary strictly. In my experience there, it’s challenging to have every event happen perfectly on time. There are many participants having very deep and different experiences from one another. To accommodate everyone and expect everyone to move at the same pace isn’t reasonable. So yes some meetings run a little late and other events then have to be cut short due to time restrictions.

Have an intention and meaningful purpose for going! There were some people in a different group who arrived without any intentions. They just went because a friend was going. I highly suggest that you do not part take in any ayahuasca ceremony if you’re just there because someone else is going. These ceremonies are intense and can be very painful if you don’t have any intentions. I witnessed a few people have really bad experiences and they left feeling pretty disappointed. These ceremonies are to be respected and taken seriously. They can be deeply transformative in the most beautiful and meaningful ways or they can feel like you’re being punished and tortured. I witnessed people experience both.

My personal experience was wonderful. I definitely had challenging moments during the ceremonies but they are lessons for you to learn and grow from, and ultimately be grateful for. If you keep love and forgiveness in your heart and mind through the challenging moments, you will make it through and be rewarded with beautiful insights to bring home with you.

Lastly, Ayahuasca ceremonies aren’t “fun” they are profound and they take serious effort. Bring a loving attitude into them and continually forgive yourself through the experience and you will feel so blessed. Intentions are everything.

Hope this helps future participants :)

I can not express my utter gratitude to the staff at Etnikas. The medical and psychological staff were amazing. The facilities are wonderful, the staff are incredibly kind and caring. As these were my first ceremonies in my 58 years, my experience was rather intense. I purged a lot. The staff was incredibly kind, caring, understanding, and patient. I don't have the words to express my gratitude to all the Etnikas staff. The facility is A+++. From the food, to the lodging, to the medical staff, the shamans & the housekeeping team, I want to say a most sincere THANK YOU. I hope to return in a few months. Etnikas is an AMAZING place full of amazing people.

Was so nervous in the lead up to attending my 5 day retreat but I needn’t have been. From the minute you get picked up in Cusco to when you get dropped back, you are extremely well cared for. The facilities and setting alone are absolutely stunning, let alone the experience itself. I have come home after doing 3 ceremonies feeling so much lighter, happier and more positive. The staff are all absolutely incredible and so experienced in what they are doing. The food was delicious and everything was planned and executed extremely well. If I ever feel the calling to do another Ayahuasca ceremony, I’ll most certainly be back. Massive thanks to the Shaman, Masters, Lou, Carmen and Tracey. As well as all of the other staff. Was so well looked after and made to feel comfortable here, Etnikas will always hold a special place in my heart.

I chose this retreat for the transformation for better life for the rest of my life.

The place is one of the beautiful place surrounded with great nature.
The facility with great eco system, clean air and clean water, with too beautiful animals. I love all the diet meals they are too delicious, based on organic vegetal and fruits, cleanse whole my body.

The ceremony was very safe and all the staffs and sharmans are amazing people, they support and help us for 24 hours. From the moment we applied for the retreat
they were very supportive that you fell safe for travelling journey.

I was so healed in both physically and mentally. I would definitely go back to Etnikas again
.

I really wish all the world in this planet should experience this medicine in good ways then the world will be better place.

Experiencing the 5-day ayahuasca retreat with Etnikas is one of the best things I've done in my adult life for therapy (mental, physical, and emotional). The ceremonies are safe and supervised by one Psychologist, Nurse, and Doctor; the high-quality center has relaxing and spiritual atmospheres (indoors and outdoors), and the staff has good souls. I'm grateful for the incredible experience!

Thank you, Luz (Psychologist), Luzma (Nurse), Yandeli (Doctor), Danilo (Andean Priest), Melia & Rosita (Shipibo Healers), Liliana (Meditation & Massage Therapist), and Carmen (Coordinator).

It was an amazing experience in a beautiful location and with an incredible team. This was my first experience with ayahuasca and I was a little worried, but I was lucky that I ended up in this center and everything went great. I can't name any shortcomings. I would especially like to mention the team that was always there:

Great staff that will look after you always. The masters/shamans were incredible. The food was tasty and accommodation was shared but still great cause you get to talk and share your experiences.

Honestly, the greatest thing I have done in my life was come to Etnikas. I was nervous at first, but the professionalism of the staff and the indescribable beauty of the facility put me at ease. There is no other place you should experience ayahuasca (especially your first time) than here!
