I visited the museum not expecting much. Was I wrong! This museum is stuffed with interesting history of the Falkland Islands and such a variety of subject matter. It naturally covered the Falklands War in 1982 but there was so much more. If you visit the Falklands do spare a few hours to visit the museum. Well worth it.

Two floors of this quaint museum, typically I dont personally pay but for cruise visitors entry $5 fee is waived if you show ship card.
Nice section to commemorate those lost in 1982 battle with short video in the kids eyes, now grown of course, so sad to see the wall of those young men lost way too early in life, some as young as 18.
Definitely worth a look

A very worthwhile time spent here.
You could spend a full day without any problem, but when visiting from a cruise ship, you do not have this option.
Many things to see, including the telephone exchange, and aspects relating to the SS Great Britain and other ships.
Highly recommended

Very good museum made up of many rooms dealing with different aspects of life on the Falklands. As might be expected there is a large section devoted to the 1982 war, particularly worth reading are some of the personal accounts of residents from that period that make up a large section of one wall. Could have spent longer exploring the various buildings around the main museum but had to return to our cruise ship
NB goods in the museum gift shop were generally of a higher quality than is some stores in town

Such a brilliant museum telling the story and if the Falkland Islands and its people. Fascinating exhibits abound and are very informative and well laid out. The conflict is covered very well but it is in no way the dominant theme of the museum. Much more of the history of the islands is also covered. If you’re in Stanley you MUST visit.

What a gem of a place this is!
It may be relatively small but it's jam packed with fascinating information and exhibits relating to the social and natural history, and culture of these far flung islands - and the wildlife, etc of the Antarctic. The Smithy adjacent to the main building was also of great interest. And don't miss a hot cuppa and cake in the tiny but cosy cafe.
PS if you've arrived off a cruise ship, there is free entry :)

For such a small museum it packs loads in. Allow a good few hours to see it all. Well presented and informative from the first sighting to present day. A must see especially if it’s raining!

Beautiful museum coving all of the Falklands history from discovery to modern day. Super friendly staff all of whom live in the islands with family’s going back many generations. Lovely grounds and various buildings to visit . Set in one of the oldest building in the Falklands. A must visit .

The museum is excellent. Well organised, pertinent and with knowledgeable staff. The Falklands conflict features large, and with good reason. Until you go there you cannot realise how very British the islands are. Not in a jingoistic way but with a deep love and respect for a British way of tolerance and inclusivity. The historic sections are well catered for with excellent exhibits. If you go to Stanley, go to the museum.

Another relatively recent development, centred around several restored buildings and outdoor exhibits. Well presented and with explanatory notices. As always in Stanley pays to have a cagoule handy for sudden showers, and hold on to your hat!
