Neighbourhood: Marina Bay
More of a mini city than a neighbourhood in the traditional sense, the iconic Marina Bay aims to dazzle and entertain visitors of all kinds. This is the Singapore found in glossy brochures, featuring a world-class hotel, casino, shops, restaurants, bars, and other attractions all geared towards pure entertainment. The SkyPark at Marina Bay Sands provides a stunning view of the city, a must-see photo opportunity for visitors and locals alike. The ArtScience Museum always has a top-quality exhibition, and Gardens by the Bay is a fascinating manifestation of the government’s vision of Singapore as a “city in a garden”. Enticing Marina Bay is well worth a visit.

- lowri r1 contributionWonderful night! Before arrival we received call asking us if we would like to continue with our reservation at 8 due to weather conditions. Upon arrival due and due to the delay we had access to the club lounge. We were able to drink some lovely Mojitos there and take in the amazing skyline. After just under an hours wait we were seated. Staff were apologetic and friendly for the long delay. Our waiters name were Mahhan, Ann and Maricel. They were brilliant and very attentive. All offered wonderful suggestions as to what to order. Food came promptly with enough gap in between to digest. We had a dozen oysters to start that were cold, fresh and the sauce was yummy. Our mains were fish and were much larger portions than anticipated so filled us up. For desert we had the chocolate option followed by the Lime recommendation from Ann. Such a delicious pallet cleanser. My friend and I had a wonderful evening! Thank you.Visited October 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 31 October 2023
- Nico L3 contributionsLuxury at CelaviThe view from the rooftop bar was absolutely stunning, especially during sunset. I enjoyed some of the best wines I’ve ever had, and the staff were incredibly attentive and knowledgeable. The extraordinary experience at Celavi Marina Bay Sands Hotel was made even more exceptional by the impeccable service provided by the talented individuals Ann, Ambi, Roz, Lia, and Mel.Visited November 2023Travelled with familyWritten 3 November 2023
- Liveyourdream_asiaSingapore, Singapore2,192 contributionsFantastic views on Singapore & Infinity pool of MBSFor over a dozen years, I've frequented this spot in Singapore, and while the view is consistently impressive (you can see the whole Singapore as well as Infinity pool of MBS), especially during National Day or New Year's celebrations, it's not without its drawbacks. The three options – bar, restaurant, and club – offer varied experiences. Opting for the club ensures a spectacular view, less crowds and slightly better service, but be prepared for a hefty minimum spend of $200 per person. Unfortunately, popularity comes at a cost – dealing with perpetual crowds and the challenge of securing reservations, limited to the restaurant and club.Visited September 2023Travelled with familyWritten 16 November 2023
- Federico GAmsterdam, The Netherlands11 contributionsThe views come at a cost, but worth it for a G&TBest views in Singapore. Period. And the views are what you are paying for. I would however expect somewhat of a more professional service. The 26$ Gin & Tonic was served in really cheap glasses which you would expect in a cheap poolside bar hotel. Staff was overall ok but definitely not what you would expect for such a luxurious environment, but perhaps I have European standards. Overall I would recommend to go but just for a couple of drinks until the view soaked in.Visited December 2023Travelled soloWritten 25 December 2023
- Rhian H4 contributionsThe 360° experienceThe best view in Singapore! Fresh air, beautiful crowd, great music but not too loud that you can't have a conversation. Lots of wind so careful with your flowy skirts and tops, ladies! 😅 We especially loved our server, a Filipina named Ann. - RB282723Poole, United Kingdom196 contributionsBusy but worth it.We have been through Singapore a number of times but never done the Marina Bay Views. Thanks to Trip Advisor tips I booked the restaurant. Good move! We arrived early and went for drinks at the Sky Bar. Busy but managed to find a table. Great view but drinks expensive. We watched the sun set. Lovely. Our table time was 7.45. Team were friendly and efficient finding us a fantastic view table overlooking the gardens sea and lighted golf course. Service excellent. Food wonderful. Best scallops I have ever had and the Halibut tasty. Gill had prawn toast which included crab and lamb chops. Good value for money as well so worth booking for both view and food. Wine expensive as usual but you can’t have everything.Visited May 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 5 May 2024
- Beth WMaidstone, United Kingdom19 contributionsIncredible nightOur night at C’est La vie was amazing. I had booked a month in advance as it gets very busy so I recommend booking in advance. The food was incredible, the views were insane. I recommend that you book for 7.45pm as we were able to watch both the gardens by the bay light shows on our visit! Lastly our night was made by our waiter, mannan. He honestly went above and beyond to ensure we had a great evening and he is a credit to the restaurant.Visited June 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 12 June 2024

I went to Ce La Vi today on the 4th Jan, ordered 6 Jager Bomb shots and gave the lady at the bar 2 credit cards. Lady at the bar was distracted and dropped the credit cards, it was dark; so I thought she picked up both cards and charged $50nett for each card as there was a promo going on for 3 jager bomb shots at $50nett. She came back to me at the bar with only 1 credit card. I asked for another one and she said I only gave her 1 card. I told her multiple times, no, I gave 2 cards and you dropped it, so find my other card. She thinks I’m drunk so insisted I only gave her 1 credit card.
I said again, no. I gave you 2 cards, so find my other credit card back. Another gentleman found my credit card at the place she initially dropped the cards. To be honest, I have no qualms with bartenders being busy and dropping cards, it happens when it’s busy. But it’s NOT COOL to accuse your customer of giving 1 card and be totally NOT apologetic when the other card was found. No sorry, no apology and I was just brushed off. Yes, you guys experience drunk customers, but not all customers are drunk there.

I was staying at the Marina Bay Sands for a couple of nights, so I thought I would check out Ce La Vi on my last night in Singapore. There is a dress code, so I had to go back to my room and change, when I came back I was stamped and allowed entry.
The club was fairly busy at 11PM on a Wednesday night in December and the atmosphere had a decent vibe. There were a few people on the dance floor and the music was loud, but right volume for a club.
The doorman at the table service area was overzealous indicating I did not have the correct stamp on my wrist to gain access, however he failed to articulate why, other than showing me a stamp that was the appropriate one. I spoke to the doorman at the front door about this stamp, and I was advised it was a table service stamp that allows entry to the cordoned off area where table service was located. The interaction could have been more customer service friendly by communicating this to me as opposed to waving me away as I didn’t have the correct stamp.
The views are very nice at Ce La Vi Club, however having a room at the Marina Bay Sands provides better opportunities for great views in other areas where being a guest allows you access.

My hubby made a reservation at Ce La Vi to celebrate my birthday. We did not manage to catch the stunning city view from the Skypark during our staycation in December due to bad weather and wanted to use this occasion to do that.
However, the whole experience at this high-profile restaurant made us regret this decision. Poor hospitality started from the check-in counters, average food that is super expensive (expensive only because of its quality). We spent almost %350 for 2A/1C to get mediocre of everything, except for the stunning view of course. I won't forget a $20 sushi roll that we can get for $3 from a local supermarket...the wagyu beef starter was the only saving grace.
There wasn't even a birthday greeting...super super disappointing and I will never step into Ce La Vi again, not even for drinks! There are plenty of options in Singapore to get the night city view with better experience.

Food quality is excellent and view is great. Was there for a celebratory work dinner and we’ve ordered quite a spread for sharing.
Happened that it’s the Chinese New Year period and we tried out the yusheng and it turned out pretty well. Price’s about $48++ for 2 pax and $88++ for 4 pax based on the menu. We had 5 pax, wanted to order the 4-pax portion so that we could order more food but was told they had to go by per pax and they added an extra $22 for that. Portion was too much and we couldn’t finish it.
Most of the items we ordered were pretty good but the Wagyu Porterhouse was the best! There’s not much seasoning done but yet it tasted perfect. The catch of the day Seabream special was also really good, the fish was very fresh and tender. The Hokkaido Scallop and Oyster, Black Truffle Risotto, Crispy Calamari, Korean Chicken Wings and Fremantle Octopus are ‘must try’! The FineDeClaire oysters were fresh but a little small. The Burrata & Momotaro, Furikake Focaccia and Asparagus & Lily Bulbs could skip. We’ve also ordered the Iberico Pork Chop and Braised Duck Leg but there was too much food that I couldn’t eat anymore so was not sure if it’s good.
The servers were generally very friendly and smiley (except for one lady in green uniform) but would be great if better advice could be given in terms of the food portion. We were told that the restaurant menu is suitable for sharing basis and we asked for recommendations on what to order. We ended up with 16 dishes for 5 pax and there was so much food left. There was a little bit of hard sell on the lobster even after ordering these dishes, we were glad we didn’t take that up as there was simply too much food for 2 gentlemen and 3 ladies.
We had a slight dismay in the dining experience but overall we still had a great time. We were sitting next to the windows and just when the starters arrived, the green uniformed server opened the glass panels without informing us and the strong wind gushed in as the restaurant’s located on level 57. The Furikake on the Focaccia was flying all over our clothes and our hair was blowing in all directions. My colleague asked the server if the glass panels could be kept closed but she replied that the echo was too loud and they needed to open the windows. The patrons next to our table were talking and laughing a little loud. We booked for an indoor seating but it somehow became like an alfresco dining. My colleague asked if she could close at least one panel as the hair flying is affecting the eating but she replied it should be fine, my colleague had to insist that it was not fine to have one panel closed back.
The restaurant was aware that it was a celebration, and they extended a kind gesture of a complimentary drink and generous dessert platter. Thank you for that.
Overall, it’s a great restaurant and I definitely would recommend and would be back again.

This is the bar area on the top floor of the Marina Sands hotel and open to the public, you do pay an access fee which is taken off the cost of any drinks your purchase. It’s still not cheap, like most things in Singapore nowadays. You do get nice views however over Singapore and out to see, watch the planes coming into Changi at your level. Unfortunately, when we visited, they had roped off access to the seaside for some reason and access was limited. You can also wanderer around towards the famed infinity pool of the hotel and gaze at the hordes of hotel guests lined up to access the pool, you cannot use the pool unless you are a paying guest (fair enough). Probably easier and cheaper to briefly visit than to actually stay at the hotel where the check in and out queues are long and busy.

The woman in the queue asked the staff if she can pay by credit card, he coldly replied “ in this case please pay at the counter. I am just selling advanced tickets and collect cash payment only.” When she asked why? This tall guy said acerbically “I am doing a favor here, I am doing a favor.” It’s the most incredible reply I ever heard from a service staff.
How the mighty have fallen! This bar has become trashy and crowded, it is no longer a pleasant place to chill. Waiters and bartenders are overworked and tired, they no longer provide any laudable service or even a smile.
“Sorry guys, can you move away?” One of the waiter said to a customer (instead of “excuse me”) when he needed to pass with his trays.
The drinks are ok, the view is stunning but the whole experience is ruined by bad service and the over flowing clientele. The magic has gone.

Went there for dinner - overall it was a lovely experience but was actually marred by one thing. My husband and I ordered dessert only to find out that our grandchildren had pre ordered dessert (and paid for it) which was a lovely surprise . I wish the restaurant had indicated to us dessert was pre ordered because we ended up with so many desserts that we didn’t need !
An oversight probably on their part but it would have been the right thing to have discouraged us to order and pay for an expensive dessert . Maybe a breakdown in communication but an expensive one - spoilt a lovely evening though .

The woman with short hairs at the reception is incompetent and impolite both. We came up at 4:30 pm to have a look at the restaurant and to grab a drink. She replied, it is not possible, we are opening at 5 pm. We asked if we need a reservation if we come later. She answered, it is not needed. We came back one hour later and asked for a table. There was another woman at the reception, and she told us that she is sorry, but all tables are already taken. We discussed with her that we do not understand the policy of their restaurant, and finally she gave us one table for a limited time of 1.5 h. Due to this experience, we reserved a table for the next day, and it should have been confirmed by email. Given that even half an hour later we haven‘t received any confirmation, we asked another stuff member in the restaurant. She replied that all tables are already taken for tomorrow, and she is sorry about that but she doubts that we will receive any confirmation email or place tomorrow.
Making a long story short: this place is a disaster-hit and it is not recommendable to go there. You are mainly paying for the view (which you already have when you stay at MBS), and you get better service in any other place in Singapore which does not claim to be an upper-class restaurant.

The view from up there! Amazing. I am actually anxious about heights but the area on top of Marina Bay Sands comes complete with large trees which seem to trick the senses into feeling as though you are on ground level even though you well and truly aren't. There were great views of both the ocean side and the bay side and a tantalising look over the famous infinity pool. It is of course quite windy up there and we found that the Club Lounge area was more sheltered rather than the Ce La Vi bar end.
Tip: Join Sands Rewards, this gives you a free ride up to Ce la Vi where you can then decide if you want to purchase drinks or food/or not. As we aren't drinkers it was a better choice for us to not pay the $23 entry as we could then just settle on soft drink.
Unfortunately I found the staff member at the bottom of the elevator to be quite dismissive, bordering on rude (a first for me in Singapore) when she told me to move along to the sky-park entrance instead after I showed my Rewards card, then proceeded to ignore me as she spoke to the people next in line.

Hello!
We are planning to go to Singapore in September and spend the sunset at Cé La Vi.
Can someone tell me if we can walk from the bar to the lounge and vice versa, or if each area is separate?
I am asking because it seems to me that the view from the bar is nicer, where I would make a reservation, but I would like to see the famous pool, which is obviously only possible from the lounge.

ciao, non potendo soggiornare al marina sand, sarei interessata quantomeno a fare un aperitivo con vista tramonto sul rooftop. Mi puoi dire quale struttura dovrei contattare? grazie!

Online you are only able to make reservations for dinner. Is the bar walk-in only? Is it ridiculous to think we would be able to go up for drinks/view only on a Friday or Saturday?
Written 9 April 2023
hi. sunday to tuesday and thursday if we go to ce la vi after 10 pm then there is no cover charges and the entry is free and we only pay for what we order. is this true? the website mentions it thats why asking. i had visited the bar 7 years back and me and my husband entered for free and paid only for the drinks we ordered. Please help in clarifying.

Look. Its expensive there. Usually 23usd to get in. My advice.
You will only go there once. Oay uo. Have a few drinks. Enjoy it. Its best midweek as its less busy. But still ludicrous pricey
But if you are going ti frett about the price don't bother.
