    Mysteriously Middle Eastern
Kampong Glam is Singapore's Muslim Quarter with the major highlights the Sultan Mosque and Malay Heritage Centre. It's another vibrant neighborhood in Singapore with many shops stocking products of Middle Eastern origin and restaurants offering fare from a variety of countries. The area is mostly pedestrian with vehicular traffic heavily restricted. Haji Lane has a number of boutiques and is renowned as a shoppers paradise..

    Loved
For the short stay we had in Singapore, we fell in love with kampong glam. It had everything we wanted to experience in a country, in parts heavy with traditional Singaporean Malay culture and some parts more western. Beautiful mosques with amazing Athan ( call to prayer) situated all around kampong glam, which you could hear simultaneously come prayer time. Restaurants at very turn street art of the walls clean sweeped roads well maintained parks. Everything about kampong glam we love. Kampong glam we loved you.

Singapore’s vibrant Muslim Quarter - definitely worth the walking tour we took
We took the MRT to get to Kampong Glam, Singapore's Muslim Quarter. You cannot miss the prominent Sultan Mosque with its large golden dome. From there, we enjoyed the alleys with so many beautiful shops and large colorful murals. Many buildings have vibrant blue and white paints, or gold and white paints. Lots of textiles to pick from, if you are shopping for them. Watched a guy load up on meats, tower of meats, onto the rotisserie skewer. Getting ready to make gyros for tourists. This is a fabulous place to people watch. We really enjoyed the vibe.

    Slowly losing its vibes....visit ASAP
After a hearty meal at Golden Mile Hawker Center, we walked down to Kampong Glam via the alleyway and were able to capture a few photogenic spots. There are many Muslims food stalls and souvenirs shops as you explore the various streets in Kampong Glam. Do not be put off by the back alleys as one could view artistic wall murals therein. It's slowly losing its authentic vibes as more and more shops, F&B march in....

I recommend a visit to anyone spending a couple of days in Singapore.
I really like the Kampong Glam district of Singapore with its stunning 200 year old Sultan Mosque, the many eating and drinking establishments, the colourful painted side streets, (Haji Lane is buzzing), and the independent shops and traders. I have visited this area many times and it is great both during the day and at night. At the end of March / early April they have a food festival in this area which is great to visit to sample the various street foods on offer, many of which are Malay. I recommend a visit to anyone spending a couple of days in Singapore.

    Nice spending time here
A nice tourist spot with a lot cafe. Be careful with the prices. Honestly it is just average taste compare Thai or Indonesian food. But it is nice place to relax, have a beer or coffee. Easy access to MRT Bugis/Lavender

We walked past the Masjid Sultan and street with mainly Turkish restaurants yet to open for business in search for breakfast but managed to find only one place open. The nasi lemak was only OK but the rice with bedegil/tofu was yummy.

We walked past some art murals before reaching Gedung Kuning and the Heritage Centre. Sadly, the Heritage Centre is closed on Mondays. The whole area was very quiet in the morning. We ventured to where Masjid Hajjah Fatimah was but it stated that it was only open for prayers on specific times and on other times by appointment.

It appears that one should only come here after lunch as the place was dead in the morning.

The small district of Kampong Glam is located in the northeast of Singapore, right next to the district of Little India.

Well known for its colorful and photogenic streets (Arab Street, Haji Lane) the district surrounds the pretty Sultan Mosque. The surrounding small streets are just as charming, with their multitude of bars, restaurants and trendy stores in this Muslim district.

It is pleasant to stroll through these streets and discover as you wish the tags and other murals that populate and embellish the facades. The colorful houses are legion and so typical of the neighborhood that it would be a shame not to take a trip there.

Allow a good time.

Very small neighborhood next to Little India to do without any hesitation. It is not very big but the streets are nice, full of cafe shops and alleys that show beautiful facades and beautiful street art. Worth a visit.

Kampong Glam is a nice neighborhood in Singapore, especially if you like places that mix history and modernity. The nerve center is the Sultan Mosque, with its huge golden dome, hyper photogenic. Around you have plenty of little streets like Arab Street and Haji Lane, where independent shops, trendy cafes and street art run wild. It is a good place to stroll, but quite touristy. The restaurants are good, but we pay a little for the pitch. In short, it’s nice to see, but it can be done fairly quickly.

Wonderful stories and history of all the sites along the way from awesome architecture of Parkview Square and its surroundings to the Sultan Mosque & Istana; Temples; street art & boutiques along Haji Lane, Middle Eastern Scents to the infamous Bugis Street of old; all the way to the Religion hub of Waterloo Street. Our guide Cheyenne has a wonderful personality; full of knowledge and very responsible in ensuring the safety of the group as well as ensuring the group stay together. I definitely had a great time and will look forward to doing more tours with IndieSingapore.
