About
There are no shortage of water play areas and swimming pools in Singapore, but few come at such a bargain. For less than $2 (and less than $1 for children), visitors can choose to dive into the wave pool, cruise down the lazy river, conquer the water slides, relax in the whirlpool or watch the little ones splash down at the Kiddy Fun Station. Bring your own picnic to make a day of it. (NOTE: Jurong East Swimming Complex will be closed March 12, 2012, to July 12, 2012, for renovations.)

Amazing cheapo fun, hidden in the western corner of Singapore lies the Jurong East Swimming Complex !!

I wanted to visit Jurong East Swimming for a long time and was very right in my decision of spending some time at this place. In fact it was the highlight of our recent trip to Singapore. I visited with my son and my brothers sons (aged 16, 20 & 24 besides me aged 50). This is basically a Singapore public pool, frequented by locals.

Considered as one of the largest public pools, it will keep the kids, teenagers (as well as adults) super busy with three water slides, a wave pool, a wading pool, a bubble jet station and a lazy river.

The boys especially enjoyed the 'secret passageway' inside the tunnel, which gives the kids a chance to climb out of the water, walk through the cave and then jump back into the water at the caves exit. Wave Pool is also a big fun and waves are very strong, exciting enough to give a adrenaline high. The 'water jets' that spray over the pool -- adds a lot of excitement. Its activated once every hour and last for about 10-15 minutes. There are 3 slides: a short (yellow) one that is used without a float - this one is very fast and great fun. The big slides (red & blue) are quite big in length can be little scary to few but are enjoyable. The small kids can also have a gala time too.

If someone from the group are not swimming, there are lots of chairs, lots of idling areas and I would say it is pretty spacious !I

You could easily spend a few hours here or even a whole day depending on the time you have. I can call it a 'hidden gem'. Someone who like to have fun in water, who wants to save money, wants to do something different from the regular touristy things, go for it.

To enter the complex one can conveniently pay by Ez-link card besides cash.

This waterpark is just a short walk from Chinese Garden MRT and easily accessible to tourists. Entry is only $1.50 during the week and to hire an inflatable ring for lazy river & the slides is $2. In the park there is a competitive swimming pool, wave pool, jacuzzi area, childrens water play park, shallow childrens pool, lazy river and 3 slides. Loads to keep you entertained. Great choice for an afternoon sunbathing for budget conscious backpackers or equally for a family on holiday.

Hi, I am going to Jurong East Swimming Pool with my Best Friends... I was wondering whether we are allowed to take pictures of us underwater. I understand that it is a public pool so I am just wondering if we are allowed to take pictures of me and my friends. I hope that you can get back to me by my Email address. Thank you very much for your help.

We made the mistake of not checking the official website before visiting; some websites online say the complex is open on Monday afternoons. It isn't! It's now closed all Monday. We were very disappointed after taking the MRT to Chinese Gardens and walking ~500m in the heat to discover the pool was closed. But it's our own fault for not checking in advance.

The next day, we came by and were a little nervous as we walked in, because there seemed to be no one around. As it turned out, the pools were just very quiet! We had the place nearly to ourselves (plus lifeguards) which was awesome. I imagine it gets more crowded on weekends/public holidays, but still, coming from New Zealand, a complex like this would be packed every day in summer.

The facilities are excellent for the price. The slides are standard water slides, but reasonably entertaining; the yellow one's over before you know it and the blue/red slides require floats. Lifeguards make sure you only go down one at a time. The lazy river was great, but it's hard to get too relaxed as you get sprayed by water reasonably frequently. Kids would love it, adults wanting to relax should probably head to the jacuzzi area. ;) The jacuzzi is cold water, but still pleasant. The wave pool's pretty neat, and you can take the float in if you like. The bathrooms and changing areas are very clean with plenty of cubicles. While there's a KFC/Pizza Hut in the building (before the entrance), we went to the hawker centre across the street for lunch in advance of swimming.

At $1.50 for an adult entrance on a weekday, plus $2 each for float hire, and 40c for the locker (make sure you have 20c's on you, but if you don't, the float hire guy can provide change), and I guess the cost of getting there via the MRT, Jurong East was a very economical afternoon of fun and relaxation.

We visited yesterday and the slides and wave pool are still closed after months so far of renovations. Asked staff when they might be opening again and no one could tell us. They might have reduced their already low entrance fees but it was a disappointing and short visit as kids got bored quite quickly.

We were about to go to Sentosa Adventure Cove for a swim but when I am about to book online tickets were sold out. So I decided to bring my teens to Jurong East Recreational Sports Complex instead.

As per website it has different sizes of swimming pools, lazy river and a wave pool which I thought would be great for my teens. It was Thursday morning, about 9:00am, from our hotel in Waterloo St, we walked 5 minutes to Bugis MRT and alight at Chinese Garden, took Exit C and walked to the right to take the bus to Jurong East Recreational Sports Complex. It turned out we headed the wrong way. We should have walked to the left to get to the nearest bus stop. Anyway, we checked the bus map posted on the wall of the bus stop (all bus stop in Singapore has bus map), took the bus and alight after 3 stops, walked to JERSC.

There were many people inside the pool premises but not swimming. Others were waiting at the turnstile. So we checked what's going on. It turned out that the management suddenly closed the pool for some reasons and would open at 12:30noon. So we just left the complex and took shower in our hotel.

Word of advise, do call the complex first at +65 96517946 before you head there to avoid any inconvenience as their location is far from CBD.

Few weeks back, I suddenly received a sms from Activesg asking if I could perform some volunteer work for the Jurong East Sports Center Open House on 25 Jul 2015. It was a surprise as I could not remember ever signing up for any volunteer duties with the Sports Council. Nevertheless, I immediately agreed and I was deployed as a programming assistant at the Jurong East Swimming Pool on the Open Day.

Jurong East Swimming Pool is located within the Jurong Sports Center. I have not been to this swimming pool and I was eager to know why this attraction was awarded the Certificate of Excellence on Tripadvisor.

The Jurong East Swimming Pool is located at No. 21 Jurong East St 31. It is very convenient to visit this attraction as it is just about 7 mins walk from the Chinese Gardens MRT station. As it was an Open House, entrance to the pool and the Sports Center other facilities were free. However, on a normal day, the adult admission ticket costs $2/-and children $1/-. There is no limit to the hours you spend in the pool.

The Jurong East Swimming Pool is different from other swimming pools in Singapore in that it houses the biggest wave pool with the largest slide equipment. The wave pool and the slide were closed for the past few months for repair and maintenance and it was only re-opened yesterday and I was lucky to witness the Open House as a volunteer.

The wave pool is the biggest I ever seen in a public pool in Singapore. I have been to Chua Chu Kang Swimming Pool but it was on a smaller scale. But the fact that it is a big wave pool, the frequency of the wave is fewer as more energy is required to generate the waves. I asked the lifeguard and he showed me the frequency table and it appears to be a gap of about 1 to 2 hrs whereas in Chua Chu Kang Swimming Pool, the frequency of the wave is every half an hour but of course, the wave generated is not as huge as that at Jurong East. It was sad that the wave pool was not in operation due to telematch games yesterday and I could not measure and compare the difference in the magnitude of the wave of both pools.

As in other standard public swimming pools, there is an adult pool where the first four shallow lanes of the pool is reserved for those learning to swim while the middle lanes are for the experienced ones.

As you enter the swimming pool from the main entrance, you will see the huge structure of the slides located at about 20 meters from the entrance. There are three slides diferentiated by their colors. The yellow slide is the shortest slide meant for the amateur, trying to get their first time confidence before taking the steeper challenge. The pink and the blue appears to be of the same length, the blue seem to be longer with more twists and bends. I went up the stairs to take a look at each level to the entrance of the three different slides and each level is strictly guarded by a lifeguard. The lifeguard only permits one swimmer at a time to slide into the opening of the long tunnel to ensure everyone's safety and no one is allowed to swim or loiter around the pool at the end of the slide tunnel.

I regretted not bringing along my swimming trunk as I was tempted by the joy and the smiles on the faces of those who enjoyed the slides.

Many of the young children swimmers seem to enjoy in the lazy river pool and the baby pool. You can rent floats from the pool counter at $2/- for 2 hrs and paid a refundable deposit of $3/-. The floats are quite big and you have the relaxed feeling of sleeping in the pool as you go round the lazy river pool provided you don't collide into anyone.

I was quite surprised that there are three fastfood outlets at the sports center. One is KFC, the other Pastamania and the other Macdonald. If you are hungry, you can conveniently walk into these fast food restaurants to have your meals. There is also a birthday bash tentage beside the baby pool for families to celebrate birthday at this venue!

My impression is that this swimming pool is special and unlike the rest of the public pool, this pool is built like a resort with big wave pool, slides and where you can have your meals by the poolside or even birthday parties and you can rent floats. It is worthwhile paying for that $2/- admission fee if you need to.

I really enjoy the day of volunteer work at this Swimming Pool. The next time I come I shall make sure that I bring along my swimming trunk.

We found this place by chance and spent two hours cooling off with the kids who were done with culture and history attractions for the day. With kids it's always nice to sprinkle in some treats like this to rejuvenate.
We were amazed we could go to a waterpark and spend less than $20 SD for slides, a lazy river and wave pool.
I would recommend this, bring towels, get off the MRT at Chinese Gardens and walk over the overpass them left along Chinese shops then a right and look to the left for the sports complex. Have fun and cool off!
