During the early 2000's, this was among my favorite place to visit in all of Sentosa. It had a beautiful display of insect life, and a clean and well-fashioned interior with wonderful artwork and dazzling terrariums.
20 years later, and it failed to withstand the test of time. Leaking roofs, flickering lights, and dust began piling up. The poor place wasn't being renovated properly, perhaps due to losing competition to the newer, more grandeur attractions.
I'll really miss this place; staple of good memories.

This place is truly dreadful. I don’t even know where to start. It should be closed.
It’s so run down. Dirty, broken glass, rotting.
The insects on display are all dead. Have they died in their cages or are they supposed to be dead?
The other animals look half dead - Parrot with lots of feathers missing - I asked what was wrong and they say it’s due to stress !
Insane price for something that takes 5 minutes. And they had the cheek to try and charge extra to hold a parrot.
The highlights - staff were friendly and my 5 year old enjoyed holding a butterfly.

Its an educational experience at the Butterfly Park & Insect Kingdom where one get to see the wild life exhibit, butterfly aviary, pupa house, bird/animal aviary and insect kingdom museum. Well, make sure to end your trip at the gift shop where wonderful gifts could be brought home. Don't be surprised to be greeted by the few peacocks which often enlighten the visitors near the entrance.

Very ridiculous, very smelly and dirty with rotten wooden floor. My father fell down at the exits of butterfly park and insect kingdom. Approach the Butterfly Park staff and did not bother with our feedback. Cheat my money!

I've been to the butterfly zoo near Monmouth which is fantastic and I come to Singapore on holiday to expect something even grander and something for toddler to enjoy as much of Sentosa is geared for older children except sea aquarium....
Not so! Really overpriced, unfriendly staff and only four species of butterflies and some birds. Three year old daughter summed it up after five minutes, "not much to see, can we go now mammy".....
Photos to take with birds very expensive so we didn't do one. Honestly, what a waste of time!
Avoid at all costs and save your money for sea aquarium instead

My husband and I were looking forward to Sentosa, we decided to visit the Butterfly Park and Insect Kingdom first and follow with the other attractions. After walking through the mostly dirty park, rubbish all around, with an unkept feel, we found the Butterfly Park. The first display we come across are the two turtles. Oh my, the enclosure was appalling, dirt, old pot plant tipped over and cob webs as if no-one has entered this enclosure in a long time. The turtles had no water only some old lettuce.
We then entered the butterfly area. Large and I would have imagined friendly to the butterflies. However dead and dying butterflies in a glass fronted terrarium which looked like a hatching area. Other butterflies flying around. Then others being mauled by the many school children visiting. In this area was a bird cage with a toucan. The poor thing had no water, only 1 small piece of melon to eat. He looked so stressed and spent the time looking up as if looking for how he could escape from people looking at him. the cage was extremely small for this size bird, with nothing for stimulation.
The birds in the next area looked board, and extremely sad. One had most of his feathers on his chest missing.
I would sincerely ask travellers to avoid this attraction. The conditions of the animals here is unacceptable. We ended our visit of the island after this experience and went onto the Gardens by the Bay which was a wonderful experience.

I just visited this Butterfly Park a couple of days ago and was totally shocked to see that they have a tucan bird in a horribly small cage there. The poor bird was desperately trying to seek its way out of its prison, a cage in which the bird nearly couldn't even turn around. It is a horrible torture of an innocent creature. Please let this bird go free, stop this cruelty! I will never ever recommend this place to anyone unless the tucan bird is out of that cage.

We previously visited the butterfly enclosure at the Science Centre in Singapore and were very impressed at the incredible number of butterflies, how clean and well maintained it was and were also impressed with the guide who was super friendly without being overwhelming.
At the Butterfly Park in Sentosa, the enclosure was NOT well maintained, the miserable woman at the entrance was annoyed with us - for turning up? there were only a few butterflies, and a few on the floor dead or dying.
There was a nice woman in the middle with a huge lizard/chameleon, but I don't think she, or the lizard, are regular attractions there.
As for the Insect display. All the vivariums, or to be more accurate 'boxes' just had dead beetles positioned randomly around. In the back rooms were many picture displays of hundreds of dead butterflies and various insects.
I guess we're just not fans of dead insects and there weren't very many things left alive.

How the hell has this place got any good reviews. This has got to be the worst place I have ever been to. The place looked so run down and dilapidated.
Apart from the butterfly enclosure which was just ok. The bugs had to be either all dead or plastic. Nothing moved. The tarantula was rotten with no body cavity. There was a small lone terrapin in a small fish bowl on a table with an cm of water and 3 pebbles. I honestly thought of rescuing the poor thing and releasing him in a more suitable environment. It was the most depressing place I've ever visited and charged 20 dollars for the pleasure. 1 star rating only because I couldn't submit the review with a zero.

Went here with my teenage Son expecting to see lots of butterflies. We got inside the first room and to be honest I think we saw 4 different varieties of butterfly. It looked scruffy and dirty. The shed in here which had the pupae in looked a mess. The glass hadn't been cleaned regularly.
We moved on into the next avairy and this one smelt awful. There was no one about and there was a few parrots sitting on a pole by themselves.Obviously looked like this was used as a photo opportunity. We walked around and peered over the water where the terrapins were. These poor creatures were covered in mud and the water was stagnant & black. There was lots of plastic pots in this water that shouldn't have been there as they were a risk to the terrapins. As we walked a few steps back a plank of wood wasn't nailed down and rose up in the air.Jesus this place is a health & safety risk not only to the humans but to the poor things that live in this awful place. It really was upsetting and the poor iguana or monitor lizard (not sure what it was),its glass house was filthy and no sign of food or water for that matter. It didn't look in good health in my opinion.
It was an appalling attraction and I urge people please read these reviews and stay away.Don't give these people your money.
Sentosa for the most part is fantastic but not this place. It really was disappointing and upsetting.
It should be closed down and has no place on Sentosa Island :(

Hello,
This is Mrittika from India. Am visiting Singapore-Sentosa from 23-Feb'15 till 1-Mar'15 for vacation along with my parents. Would like to know about the entry fee per adult for this destination.
Also, how do I get there using public transportation from Siloso Beach Resort (Sentosa)?
Thanks.

$20 adult. Not worth a visit! We only saw one alive butterfly.
