Nice place to stay, plenty to see, light show each night is wonderful. Can be a little busy and they are doing a bit of work on the waterfront at the moment, so a lot of it is blocked off, will be great when it is all finished.

Bring your tennis shoes. You will want to stay on the ground when you venture through these authentic neighborhoods. This is what people expect and seek out when they are looking for the Asian big city experience. The smells of the authentic small restaurant cuisine, incense and tea rooms as well as a few unidentifiable pungent odors engage all of your senses. Crowded but vibrant. This is where the adventure movies are made to give you that intense and exotic experience. There are still a few alleys you would not venture down but it is safe with your customary common sense. Make sure to take the MTR to the Flower Street Market that eventually connects to the Bird Market. Well worth your while and very authentic.

A nice spot for a wander and a look at the splendid HK skyline. The promenade of the stars is kitsch and fun and there's plenty of dining options roundabout.

I usually stay at the park hotel for its fast and easy access on the free shuttle bus from Kowloon Station. It's situated at the corner
of Cameron and Chatham. once settled in there are nooks
and crannies worth exploring.
About 2 blocks south on chatham is a Singaporean restaurant
whose Hainan chicken plate (available for breakfast - YUMMMM)
is out of this world. they have other things for breakfast but
distinctly asian - no pancakes here - but you didn't come here...
if you walk north on chatham - within a block of two is a
noodle shop (Prince I recall). large variety of noodles
one right.
across the street is a the TST east complex of buildings
mostly office but many restaurants. there's a Taiwan
beef noodle place that offers a lot of variety. (across
the way in the basement of that building is a shoe repair
that for $20USD or so, in about an hour - do leave it and
come back - for heel repair and rubber inlay soles).
also in tst east are the rides to LoWu/shenzhen.
if you head towards the TST MTR station on Cameron
road, halfway down the first block on the right side,
is an alley way and about 50 meters, make a left
and voila! a tiny street with more restaurants than
you can shake a stick at ( I think its called Grand
Carnavon). along both sides are every possible
cuisine. there are two traditional Cantonese
serving breakfast-style congee, noodles,
and rice rolls. if you love congee, get the
fried dough in the rice roll and dip into your
congee. congee with dozens of variations
including meat, vegetarian, etc.
another restaurant is a dim sum only - tight
and if you're less than four be prepared to
share a 4 seat table with total strangers
right in front of you - folks in HK
like seating themselves side by side.
Another restaurant, for breakfast and dinner,
is at the entrance corner to this street. they
have lots of food, spicy and a favorite -
clams in a spicy sauce.
there's also a shanghai noodle shop with
soup-inside-dumplings (little dragon dumplings).
there are Vietnamese, Japanese, BBQ restaurants
try them all. But that's like 7 days of 4 meals per day.
I try to eat every three hours so It's all doable.
You come to Hong Kong for the world's finest food,
traditional, ethnic, fusion, and they are all a foodie's
delight.
enjoy!

Great hotel and this location is very good, not as hustle/bustle as Nathan Road area of TST. Many good restaurants and bars and only a short walk to TST mtr and star ferry

Certainly you can walk or run around, though may not be a really straight and long distance. There are also many big and small restaurants, cheap or expensive, providing different tastes for you to choose.

Hi I didn't have any diner on the boat. The only thing I suggest is to visit as many islands as you can because they are all very different.

Hi There! I'm planning my holiday to Hong Kong in the month of September around last week. I have read about the reviews and found this hotel a nice deal! Can any one help me if I do a booking at the Kowloon bay or Hong Kong Island side? I prefer a hotel stay with nice serene and skyline view along with excellent connectivity to get around the tourist places.
I'm planning for a 3 night stay.
Hope to hear from you and 'm able to make a right choice.
Thanks
Ashish

(1) age of kids?
Is this trip for the kids , eg Disneyland, Ocean park,
(2) for family(could be strenuous)the golden Budda.
Visit the Science technology museum..
Harbour cruise at nite( meal included, and watch the
(3) the light show .
(4) get lost in Harbour city whilst shopping
(5) take the cable car to the Peak and view from the highest view.
Hotel, stay on the main drag, in the busy parts of the city, as transport to and from the attractions is readily available and not too expensive.
Get a TOURIST PASS for all, it is easier to use and convenient
Hope this is of some help for you.
