Neighbourhood: Wan Chai / Causeway Bay
Wan Chai and Causeway Bay are the retail centres of Hong Kong Island. Filled with shops, malls and restaurants, both areas are bustling with people – tourists and locals alike. Causeway Bay has one of the highest rents on the planet, and is a bit more polished and modern than its Wan Chai counterpart. Beneath the surface there is more than meets the eye – find boutique stores in the above ground floors of buildings and wander into side streets to find interesting restaurants and shops tucked away from the main roads. Wan Chai especially has experienced a modern revival in recent times, with an influx of trendy restaurants and bars around the Star Street area. In addition, both areas contain many of Hong Kong’s iconic tourist attractions worthy of your visit.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This pub is an oasis in a desert of buildings and craziness. Whenever I felt like I was losing myself, I went to the Canny Man. The staff are excellent, the food is great, the other customers are very amiable and the drinks are the best. Whisky is special thing in this world and The Canny Man always made sure I was well watered. Sláinte!!!

Visited to eat and watch English premier footie. Football not on as they were showing the golf, so we ate and moved on. Food pretty good and prices good. Service friendly

I chose the Canny Man as I was looking for a fun, friendly place to watch the Masters golf with some decent, no-nonsense food, and I wasn't disappointed.

This bar has a different vibe from many in Wanchai, being less seedy and raucous (unless there's a Spurs game on!) but with plenty of TV screens and a very British menu. The food - I'm a wings aficionado - is good; not Michelin starred but decent sized portions, good quality and well-presented. This is my preferred default bar in Wanchai, somewhere I can watch sports in a gregarious environment with decent food at a very competitive prices.

Came here a few times during our stay and thoroughly enjoyed each and every visit. Staff super friendly and courteous. Great home from home food and terrific drinks selection to match. Highly recommend to anyone who wants a good british pub vibe. Some bargain promos on certain nights too :)

Had a reservation there for lunch. Staff didn't greet the customers and with no smiles whatsoever. English was passable at best, totally lost that Scottish Pub feel.
Pork had a funny taste to it, may be a little too old !

This place was recommended as a good place for a Sunday roast so decided to give it a go.

The beef was certainly tasty and the vegetables fresh, however the fact that there was no Yorkshire pudding spoilt it a bit. On the whole it was OK, but I have had better elsewhere.

One thing to watch out for is that this is also a sports bar so if loud sporting action is not to your liking then either time your visit right or avoid it.

Even though the roast was a little disappointing we might well be back to sample the “Scottish” food which this restaurant is renowned for.

Walking around at 10:30 a.m. we saw a promotion for a TV event and walked in. We were greeted immediately with smiles and specials. Thoroughly enjoyed the hospitality of the staff. After staying there a while, we decided to eat lunch with bangers & mash and fish & chips. Both were great delicious choices. It reminded us of food when we visited the U.K. Thanks for making our stay memorable.

Located in the basement of my preferred hotel in Wan Chai it's very convenient. The staff, all Philippines, are very friendly and act as pro's. Menu is well assorted with different kind of foods to choose among. Personally I prefer the chili or one of the burgers

Fancied a proper Sunday roast and was told about this place in Lockhart Road. You have to enter by the hotel entrance and go downstairs.
Huge Tv screen I watched the Asia Cup game on.
The set lunch was 180 dollars I had the soup and roast lamb. The lamb was plentiful but very fatty.
Nice leather seats it was very quiet only one other customer inside.
Upon entering you are asked which meat you want.
A nice quiet haven in the hustle and crowds of Wan Chai.

As an expat living in Hong Kong its good to have a taste of home every now and again. Came here last weekend and the cooked Scottish breakfast was not good. The black pudding and sausage had very strange tastes, maybe sitting around too long? not worth the trip down to the Island. And they no long have Irn Bru. Unfortunately wont be back!
