A bit off the beaten track, it'll take you a fair hike to reach Upper Lascar Row (Cat's Street), but once you're there, enjoy a wander in a not-so crowded market full of antiques and unique gifts.
The street has a bit of a 'hipster'...More
There are lots of Dim Sum and herbal tea places toward the Subway/ Tram stop "Sheung Wan" area, and, I see more locals getting off at Sheung Wan, coming from Kowloon side. Even PMQ is better accessed from this area than Central stop.
Lascar Row (Cat Street) can be a fun place to visit in the Sheung Wan district of Hong Kong. Located at Hollywood Road and Upper Lascar Road, near the historic Man Mo Temple.
This is basically a street market lined with shops and stalls selling...More
Great place for a mooch, but as is usually the case with these markets be cautious about what you show interest in. Prices are high, but there is some scope for bargaining. Some shops, however insist everything is fixed price. In my opinion that puts...More
We are not entirely sure why it is called Cat Street, but if you are interested in Chinese art; sculpture, beads, wall hangings and more, head here for a street with a number of shops selling this stuff with not too much of a hefty...More
Although many of the shops featured some mass-produced items, many others stores offered real trash and treasure from the past. If you like pottering around for unusual things, then this is the place to enjoy an afternoon. I loved the atmosphere and the market is...More

Cat street is full of Maoist era memorabilia and other so-called antique coins and such. It's a hodge podge of all sorts of desirable, and quirky objects that you can probably get on the slightly cheaper side if you're looking for souvenirs. Don't be fooled....More

Unlike most of Hong Kong’s other popular districts, Sheung Wan welcomes wanderers with an easy-going, relaxed atmosphere. Art galleries are plentiful and boutique cafés are tucked away in every side street in the sub district known as “PoHo.” Browse through the vintage clothing and handmade leather goods stores – it’s no surprise fashionistas flock to this area. History enthusiasts will be rewarded with sites of
beautiful architecture, reflecting Sheung Wan’s past as one of the earliest settlements by British forces. As night falls, the entertainment scene reveals itself to be just as laid back with its private kitchens, speakeasies and underground bars dotted throughout the area. When in Sheung Wan, everyday feels like the weekend.
