Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A small tomb set on the west bank of luxor, the tomb of Roy is a great place to visit for people who want to experience a variety of nobles tombs. The walls and ceiling of the tomb are beautifully decorated and the colours of the paints are still vibrant. I would strongly recommend visiting this tomb to anyone.

This little known tomb set overlooking the mortuary temples on the west bank of luxor is well worth a visit. A small tomb composed of a single chamber, the walls are colourfully decorated with traditional funerary scenes. It is on par with the tombs situated at Deir el-Medina

This tomb in the Valley of the Nobles, was only opened in 2009. It is amazing here and in other tombs in the West Bank that these painting retain their color after more than 3000 years.
The Suhuroy tomb is small by comparison to the Kings, but well worth a visit. As you walk up to it you can see active excavations being done on other nearby Tombs

Roy, Shuroy and Amenemope are right next to each other and are located not too far from the Carter house. There are some nice paintings and carvings here and there is ongoing archaeological work. We saw some mummy wrappings by the path!

As well as Shuroy we visited 2 other tombs, all 3 which are in the cliffs north of Deir al-Bahri, the necropolis name is Dra Abu’l Naga which has more than 100 tombs of rulers and officials. Most of these date from the 17th dynasty to the late period (c 1550–500 BC) only a few of course are open to the public.

The first tomb we visited was Amenemope (TT148) he was a Priest of Amum during Rameses III and Rameses IV reign. The outstanding feature of this tomb is that it is not just painted but painted reliefs which is rare for tombs of the 20th dynasty.

The second tomb we visited was Roy's (TT225) he was a Royal Scribe. This tomb has a beautiful painted ceiling and is lower than the average person`s height and therfore is subject to damage from tourists who frequently bang their head on the ceiling. It dates to late 18 to early 19 dynasty. Of the 3 tombs this one is the best preserved and most brightly decorated.

The third tomb was Shuroy (TT13) he was head of Brazier Bearers at Karnak during dynasty 19. Some of the scences are only red ink outlines. Soft colours mainly blue. It is a small 2 chambered tomb.

These 3 tombs are worth allocating an hour or so whilst visiting other sites on the West Bank.

Again as with all tombs no photos allowed inside.

While touring the West Bank near Qurna village we visited the Tomb of Shuroy in the Valley of the Nobles. These Nobles’ tombs mimic those of the Pharaohs but are understandably smaller, however very nicely decorated.
