Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

System is very good.
A fast and inexpensive way to traverse the city.
It is however a bit confusing for first time users. But with some practice it does become easier.
I would recommend showing up before you need to, so you guarantee your heading in the correct direction from the correct platform.

Metro in Cairo is really good and fast also very cheap. They need to upgrade system and passengers must hear where did arrive and which station is next one.

I took the metro a few times whilst in Cairo as it is one of the most efficient ways to get around in this notoriously crowded city. Surface transport can be achingly slow at times and the metro is a good alternative at a very low cost. The newer lines are clean and in very good condition.

The Cairo Metro has three lines.
Out of curiosity, I rode the Cairo Metro once during my stay in Cairo. The fare was cheap, the stations and carriages were neat, and there was English signage, so I didn't feel it was a major inconvenience. By the way, at Al Shohadaa station where I got on, tickets were not sold from vending machines but at a counter. There are only three lines, but the system is almost the same as the subways in Japan.
If there is one thing to be careful about on the Cairo Metro, it seems that taking photos inside the subway is prohibited, and you may be warned.
