The underwater post office is situated just behind the first pontoon at Hideaway Island. Probably 30m offshore. Not too much to see, some fish swimming around it. More a novelty idea. But a good talking point 😀👍 More fish and coral viewing at the front...More

Kids loved writing on the special underwater postcards, then swimming down to post them. So fun to get the postcards in the mail once you get home from your holiday!

Not much to see in the end. The experience of depositing a card to an underwater post box was a novelty. Still waiting for the mail to arrive.

It was a nice experience but the beach and corals had been damaged for a cyclone 6 months before. The beach was full of dead coral and unwalkable without shoes. There was very little coral to view but so many beautiful fish. There is extensive...More

Posting a postcard in the underwater post office was fun, but the best thing was visiting Hideaway island. For day trippers, it's a lovely location but even better, why don't you stay a few nights? We really enjoyed our 5 nights there- very relaxing!

Accessible via Hideaway Island Resort, the underwater post office is located within the snorkeling area, which is actually a marine reserve. A pretty cool spot to dive down to (scuba not required). You can also post a postcard if you want. Good for photos.

Send yourself a postcard as a souvenir of your trip. Who gets to receive a card from an under water post office!

The P.O is in the Hideaway resort marine reserve. Which is wonderful to snorkel throughout. There is an entry fee to the island $17 Aus. Great place to spend the day.

If you have time to do a round of the island there are lots of little beaches and coves with clear water and beautiful fish. Hideaway is lovely and a good choice as it is not too far to travel.
