My friends and I visited Carpet Museum of Iran on Thursday, December 27, 2018. It took us about two hours touring this one-floor museum. We really had fun there. The oldest carpet was about four centuries old.

There is no doubt that Iranian carpets are among the best and this museum has a wonderful collection of such art work which reflects Iranian culture, history, religion, literature and etc. Its a must see in a trip to Tehran

I assume that when the term Persian carpet was coined, Iran was known as Persia. However, you can use both Iranian carpets and Persian carpets, they both refer to the same thing. Persian just sounds more 'exotic'.
