Here the first oil in the Arabic Gulf was found on-land in the years 1931 to 1932. Unfortenatuly, the Museum was closed, although it was visited on a Friday, and supposed to be open.

It does its job: tells the story of Bahrain's oil industry. It is quite far from the city, and not very big, but hey, its free to enter so no complaints.

The place was open though according to the official information it should have been closed. Either I was lucky or they changed the opening times. It is worth getting there to see the history of oil exploration in Bahrain. Getting there is part of fun,...More

If you like to know history of oil in this region it is a good stop. It is well away from the city. Always learning about areas we travel so it serves to do that.

Dropped by here on way to tree of life. Fascinating array of oil related and archaeological info including fossils and stones. Ladies Loos were locked

I bumped into this museum just by chance. Although it's not a big one but the information there was really stunning even for me a Bahraini. It'll give you a glimpse of how Bahrain was and how it changed after the oil.

Great museum dedicated to the theme of oil, its search, discovery and development in Bahrain, and its impact on the life of the Bahraini People. It seeks to tell a story - that of Bahrain’s transformation from a 'pearl state' to an 'oil state'. It...More

A Good showcase of the old pictures and equipment. We visited on way to Tree of Life. The first oil well also quite interesting. Great landscape location adjacent to a small hill, which are few in Bahrain
