I missed this on a previous visit to Jerash and was pleased to catch it this time. Don’t expect top quality acting: that’s not what it’s about - much more an entertaining way of making the hippodrome and it’s history come alive. The show lasts...More

We were excited to see a show with Roman chariots. When we visited they were not showing any shows due to Ramadan. We went down to the stables to see the horses and the chariots. My little one enjoyed the experience.

Nice thing to do with children...to realize how history was on that time. Even though is not 10/10, this people do their best to produce this show.

Bottom line - unless you have plenty of time on your hands and for some reason do not want to spend it exploring the wonderful ruins themselves, take a pass on this. At 12 JD (more than $15) it's pricey and just not worth the...More

The roads for chariots were paved on a diagonal grid so that the wheels of the chariots didn't go inside the grooves . The roads were designed very well for 2 way traffic

They recently restarted the Army/Chariot experience at the hippodrome. In December 2017 it cost $12 dinar for the show. The show is about 30 mins of lackluster military formations and a v v weak pretend gladiator fight. There is commentary that is supposed to play...More

The sign is still outside the Hippodrome (I've uploaded a picture), but due to the regrettable decline in tourism in Jordan, this show is not taking place (not enough revenue to pay the cast & crew). With the problems in Syria, Iraq, etc, it’s unlikely...More
