interesting churches, especially a Franciscan monastery and Russian Orthodox church. beautiful village. unfortunately, as one sees all over the world, developers are wrecking the area by over-building and straining the small roads in the picturesque village.

Part of Jerusalem today, Ein Kerem is believed to be John the Baptist Birth place. There are several Catholic and Orthodox Churches there, as well as the famous Mary Well. The place is green, quiet (in spite of the tourists crowds) and very romantic

City pass Train to Mount Herzl, the last/first station of the train. bus 28 downhill, or 1.5 km walking.
