Part of Jerusalem today, Ein Kerem is believed to be John the Baptist Birth place. There are several Catholic and Orthodox Churches there, as well as the famous Mary Well. The place is green, quiet (in spite of the tourists crowds) and very romantic

There is no where in the Bible that says that John the Baptist was born here so it is only guesswork but many people think he was born here a small village in Jerusalem

City pass Train to Mount Herzl, the last/first station of the train. bus 28 downhill, or 1.5 km walking.
