Great walk along the old ottoman city walls and through a Muslim cemetery with nice monuments. Just beware of people asking for $$ as a contribution, this is fake, it's free. If necessary, threaten to call the police, they will disappear quickly. According to legend...More

It is worthwhile to surround the old city wall of Jerusalem. If you have learned anything about the different stones from which is was built, you could determine the age of each layer. There are legends about the gates being sealed till the arrival of...More

The only gate that is not open into Jerusalem. Easily seen from the Mount of Olives and outside the city.

Looking from the Mount of Olives at the Golden Gate was surreal for this pilgrim. Later I was able to walk beneath the gate and stand on the steps. You will love touring the ruins around this area. They are still finding artifacts here.

This is a beautiful gate with a Muslim Cemetery located just beneath. This gate will be of tremendous significance in the future. The best view is from the Mount of Olives.

The beginning of the end: according to the Scriptures, at His second coming, Jesus will return to the Mount of Olives and enter Jerusalem by way of the re-opened Eastern Gate.

This gate which is now walled closed is impressive when looking up at it from the mount of olives. It is much higher than the garden where Jesus was betrayed and would have not been an easy walk up to the gate to get into...More
