Neighbourhood: Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.

Beautiful handcrafted souvenirs at reasonable prices
Lovely shop with many high quality, handmade souvenirs. The shop owner also made it a great experience for us, took time to explain the different items for sale, and the prices were very reasonable for the quality. Would highly recommend :)

Top class and Honest place to buy Handicrafts, Istanbul
Wow what an amazing and honest place to shop real aunthenticate handicrafts and very honest bro's Sadik and AbdulAziz , Unlike other places and people in Istantanbul where almost everyone want to scam and charge you maximum these place I found very honest and humble. Their collection is best of the lot bought several hand painted gold tiles and other handmate painted tiles at a very reasonable price, very happy the art peice is on my walls , love it and already so many compliments , very happy. I will make sure all my friends and family visiting Istanbul to go to Turkmenzade shop, Fatih Istanbul.

Great stress free and pressure free shopping experience
My partner and I spent over an hour in this store browsing beautiful ceramics and taking our time looking at all the products. The store owner did not pressure us and gave us the space to browse but was always nearby in case we needed to ask questions. He also served us both tea and explained the process of how all the ceramics were made in hand-painted. This was an absolutely fantastic shopping experience and a real highlight of our time in Istanbul. I would recommend this store to anyone looking for a beautiful souvenir to take home!

    Excellent Value for Money!
When we visited Istanbul recently, we stopped at Turkmenzade Handicrafts, drawn in by the beautiful items on display. The owner, Abdulaziz, was friendly, welcoming and very forthcoming about his products and prices. We felt we had a very genuine encounter and left feeling confident that this could be a good place to get our Istanbul souvenirs. We then went to the Grand Bazaar (tourist obligation when in Istanbul) and saw similar products for sale, but they did not have the quality and finesse that we saw at Turkmenzade. The prices at the Bazaar were cheaper -- in all senses of that word. We later returned to Turkmenzade and Abdulaziz was open to very fair negotiations. We truly love the items we purchased and they are proudly displayed around our home. Highly recommend!

One stop and many choices to bring Turkey home
Great personalised attentive service. Acquired most items from the jewelry side, I just wished I'd had a larger house and could've obtained more items from this side of the shop! Well worth a visit.

We heard of this store via TA reviews and literally ran into it while wandering the old town area before an art class near the Hagia Sophia. Uh-oh ...... the selection is fantastic with the biggest problem deciding what NOT to buy. Both Ahmed and Sadik were very helpful and pulled each item we wanted to look over more closely without issue. Both brothers explained each piece, whether ceramic or carpet, and provided no pressure to buy. As we finished, the rain began to fall heavier and Sadik invited us to stay and share some wonderful apple tea with him ............. then Ahmed showed us the quickest way to our art class and we left the shop a bit poorer but enriched personally - highly recommended.

This wasn’t my first shop, or the first recommendation from a tour guide; however, it’s the one I would recommend to most of my clients, family & friends. SADIK was very hospitable & not at all pushy. He offered me only what was within the budget I gave him. What I loved is that I touched, walked on, walked on barefoot & sat on really looking; both times. If the quality & workmanship are so close that I cannot feel & see the difference for myself than why would I pay almost 2x the price? SADIK also charged me a fraction of the actual shipping & my rug beat me home by 2 days!! I want to note that they also had beautiful pottery there as well but another thing I really appreciated is that he didn’t try to get me to buy one of everything in his store, he knew what I came for and he was so respectful. And did I mention hospitable? They offered us Turkish tea, Coffee , wine or beer as we sat privately to talk & discuss among ourselves. We love, love, love our rug almost as much as our mini-Goldendoodle, Chloe!
TIP: I didn’t do enough research ahead of my trip to expect such a huge range in price between silk & Wool over cotton. Once I understood, it was easy for me to set a budget. It's better to go prepared with a budget!

We went to this store twice, having first discovered it after going to the Grand Bazaar. There are many to choose from and Abdulaziz is very passionate about his products. He gave detailed explanations of the products, the history of their family business and is such a warm and friendly person.

We highly recommend this store to others and will certainly visit our friend Aziz during our next visit to Istanbul.
