D.Hindley has New Zealand/Cambodian ownership and specialises in 18k gold and sterling silver jewellery, from affordable to extravagant. We specialise in natural, ethically sourced Cambodian stones: peacock blue zircons, rubies, sapphires, amethysts, citrines, smoky quartz, peridot, aquamarine, topaz and more. Most of our rings can be resized within 24 hours. We can make jewellery to order, usually within 7–10 days. All our manufacturing is done by our artisans in Phnom Penh. We offer written guarantees on everything - just ask. We are open 9am to 6pm Monday to Sunday, and our shop on Street 184 is just a few minutes' walk from the museum and the royal palace.

We showed up today looking to buy some 3mm round ruby or sapphire gemstones for a large flush setting project. The owner was there but neglected to look up from his desk. The sales girl was unable to answer questions or give ideas. Needless to say it was a wasted trip for us. They did have a couple of good priced rings.

Stepping inside D.Hindley you realise this is not your average Phnom Penh jewellery store.
It is elegant, everything is priced and there are even certificates authenticating the more expensive gems.
The D.Hindley experience for me gave me piece of mind about buying real gems at realistic prices and from people who know their stuff.
I'm glad I purchased a ring with sapphires from this great boutique store and I only wish I brought more.

Love the items I purchased from this new shop. There is not a lot in inventory but the pieces are nice and there is a good selection at reasonable prices. If you are looking for larger precious gemstones, like anything over 1 carat, they may not carry though I am sure you can order from them if time permits. Most items are set in silver as is the case all over Phnom Penh (much to my disappointment). They do carry local stones such as sapphires, Cambodian rubies, and Zircon (not to be confused with cubic zirconia) which I like and I wish I had purchased more when I visited. Will save it for next time.

Lovely jewellery in classic designs. Prices are reasonable (I found a sterling silver ring with a local gemstone for under us$100). Talk to the owner if you can - he is very knowledgeable about Cambodian gemstones. The store has some beautiful Cambodian rubies, but they were beyond my budget!

On travelling through Vietnam and then Cambodia I spotted a ring in Vietnam that I really liked, though very expensive.
Having researched jewellers online before starting the trip, I came across David Hindley as having good Trip Advisor reviews and so contacted him via email for a quote to recreate this ring from my photo but customised with different gold and gemstone.
David replied very quickly, advised what was and what was not practical and gave an extremely agreeable price.
I chose the Ruby from photo's that David emailed to me and he then agreed to make the bespoke ring within the five days it would take me to reach Phnom Penh to collect it.
The ring was everything that I wanted it to be and at a price that was very, very competitive. It was then also engraved and resized within the quoted price.
I was so impressed with the ring, I since ordered a duplicate for my wife and have just received that today in the UK via DHL Tracked - again, faultless service with photo's emailed to me at every stage.
I cannot praise David and his colleagues highly enough, no pressure, no hard sell, just practical advice and a willingness to help and assist.
Superb.
If looking for a jeweller in Phnom Penh, then David should be your first choice, you would not need to go anywhere else.

I just bought a Valentine's Day present here. A beautiful pair of earrings - onyx in silver. Stones were all from Cambodia. Cambodian jewelers made them. Lovely. As usual, I was treated with the utmost respect. I don't even buy the expensive stuff, yet the owner and the staff remember me and are always helpful and respectful. They never push anything. I went for one of the cheaper pairs of earrings in the store, and that was just fine. Besides being sure of the quality, it is a lovely rest from the super pushy salespeople in the big markets. This is the only place I go for jewelry in Phnom Penh. Thank you!

I bought my engagement ring from this store, and it turned out perfect. David (the owner) helped me find stones from local markets and put together a design. I wanted all local stones, which David accommodated, but he can get stones from all over the world as well. My ring was done in three days, three days earlier than promised! It can be really challenging not to get ripped off in the markets. Going with David solves that problem.

D.Hindley is a fantastic jewellery shop just behind the Royal Palace on St 184. You can find a wide range of Cambodian natural gems like Pailin rubies, sapphires and zircon. They also buy natural stones from other parts of the world. I have bought and commissioned a number of jewellery pieces at a fraction of the cost if I had bought them in Australia. I highly recommend you visit their shop if you are looking for something special for yourself or a loved one.

I've got several jewels done here and also brought some of their home creations. It's beautiful, great quality and the service is excellent + They have the greatest, cutest dogs welcoming you when you enter the shop. The best address in PP :)

I just recently worked with D.Hindley to redesign my wedding band and engagement ring. I had both made at another store in Phnom Penh and, although both were beautiful rings, they just didn't work together. David was amazing at meeting with me, discussing what could be done/could not be done to improve each ring. He was patient, knowledgeable, and incredibly professional. I cannot recommend this jewelry store enough!! Impeccable design ideas and incredible service! Also, the store in itself is beautiful, housing multiple stones (rubies, zircon, sapphires, amethyst, and more) that are mined from throughout SE Asia! I can't thank them enough for catering to my individual wants to make my rings into something truly special and lovely!
