i visited here on 6 September,that time i had a one day tour with a private car driver.before coming here,i already visited another two tombs, they are Khai Dinh and Minh Mang, so Tu Duc is the last tomb. unfortunately, when i had lunch at a local restaurant which close to Tomb of Tu Duc, the heavy rain was coming.so i waited at the restaurant till the rain not too heavy,my driver gave me a big umbrella. once entering the place,you will see a lake on your right hand side,it is Luu Khiem Lake, on the lake, there is also Xung Khiem Pavillion and Du Khiem Boat Landing, where the emperor often enjoying flowers, reading books here…because the rain still heavy,i rested at the pavilion,taking some pics,also thinking of the past history of Nguyen dynasty. the scene here is poetic.,very clam when resting here.when the rain not too heavy,i went to Hoa Khiem palace,it is the emperor’s residence when he was visiting. After his death, the palace was switched to a temple. furthermore, there is a royal theater named Minh Khiem. You may have a chance to dress up as the emperor to take some fascinating photos.that time i didn’t see anyone taking photos here,i took some pics here also bought a souvenir at the shop attached. i may missed the burial area of this place,i cant find it that time. may come here again next time, and will visit another four tombs also.

If you join a private one day tour to see Hue, they’ll take you to 3 outside tombs and this is one of them. Tu Duc is impressive with the pretty garden with curvaceous designs. Ponds with lotus looked peaceful. The emperor was said to have been very humble. Chinese character to mean humble 謙 is found in every room. We enjoyed walking the beautiful garden.

We went on a guided tour led by tour guide Hui, who was extremely knowledgeable, engaging and entertaining. He really brought the beautiful site and it’s history to life and made the experience so much better than it otherwise would have been for us. Only 100 VND extra for a private guided tour for 2 people. Highly recommended!

Do visit this place after visit the citadel, this is tomb of the 4th emperor, dont skimp on a guide as it is just buildings without explanations. A giant stone tablet is also here, best if you are able to read Chinese as it tells you his "faults". A decent site with nice buildings but it is the story and imagination that excites. We went in a rainy day so do bring umbrella or poncho on riany days.

The peaceful atmosphere invites contemplation and provides a fascinating glimpse into the life of Emperor Tu Duc. We recommend setting aside ample time to explore this unique historical site within Hue's picturesque landscape.

The serene environment provided a peaceful escape, perfect for a couple's exploration. The complex design of the tomb, with its intricate architecture and lush gardens, left us in awe. Truly a must-visit for history and nature lovers! 💕

This was my first time visiting Lang Tu Duc Temple in Hue, Vietnam. Wow, this ancient historical temple is very beautiful. We enjoyed viewing the temple's scenery and took plenty of pictures for memory. There was an entrance fee, but it was very cheap. We had a great time visiting this temple. The weather in July was extremely hot. I would highly recommend this temple to everyone for scenery viewing and learning about the temple's history.

The tomb of Tu Duc is well worth the visit - especially if you are scootering around the city. It’s on a big estate with various tombs and temples and is really interesting. There’s a lake where you can feed koi fish, which I hadn’t seen before, and Tu Duc’s ‘secondary’ wives (of which he had 103!) are also buried at the sight. It’s definitely been affected by time and the turbulent Vietnamese weather, but this is worth seeing if you’re in Hue
