I took the food tour in the evening in the Old Quarter. It was both delicious and informative as I get to know the history of the place. My guide was very informative, and I find it very easy to communicate with her excellent English.

We visit Van Mieu Quoc Tu Giam. This is a great tour for the family, its outside and you get an interesting perspective of confusionism and the role of education in historic Vietnam. We will definitely book again to go somewhere else.

I went on a wonderful tour with the friendly and knowledgeable Taylor and Eden. I went with my family including a 12 and 8 year old girl and I can tell they really really enjoyed spending time getting to know Taylor and Eden and learning about the first University in Vietnam. THis is a great tour for the family, its outside and you get an interesting perspective of confusionism and the role of education in historic Vietnam. WE will definitely book again to go somewhere else. What a wonderful way to see historic sites.

I first read about HANOIKIDS before I even left the US to travel for a month in Vietnam. From the very beginning I was hooked on the whole concept of being around incredibly young vibrant adults who were enthusiastically learning English and wanting to share their love of their country with travelers like me. I wrote a simple request to Hanoikids website reflecting a tour of Bat Trang and about myself. Right away I got a wonderful response from Lê Thị Thu Thủy❤️TAYLOR. Bat Trang was a 13 km drive from Hanoi and famous for their ceramic and pottery products in the village of Gia Lam. Although Taylor had not traveled there before, we decided that it would be the perfect adventure for both of us to arrive for the first time and explore this 18th century village. From the very beginning, I was enamored with Taylor‘s love of her city and people and her commitment to be part of HANOIKIDS which turns out to be quite a strenuous commitment of training. With the ease of two friends talking nonstop, Taylor answered all of my curious questions and added so much more to the conversation. Eager to explore and game for anything, we had our hands covered with clay trying to make clay bowls on a hand spinning wheel (and laughing the whole time). While our clay projects were drying, our exuberant clay teacher beckoned us to follower her down alleys into a special clay factory where we had a private tour with lots of photos. Next we followed her until we arrived at a lovely open yard filled with bonsai landscape and the home of her elder brother. He humbly invited us to join in an afternoon tea before returning to the clay studio. From the moment we entered the village, Taylor and I were the ONLY ones who could speak fluent English. Her communication skills with each person created an endless collection of amazing events and interactions that I would not have enjoyed on my own. There was time to return and paint our clay and find an outdoor restaurant for lunch. We continued walking for hours admiring the beautiful handcrafted ceramics made by Bat Trang’s expert potters. From the smallest tea sets to urns as tall as Taylor, we were both amazed with the complicated artwork and glazing. Although my tour was scheduled from 9-12:30, Taylor and I didn’t arrive back in Hanoi until late in the afternoon. Now I have returned to the US and we have remained friends writing and continuing to share about our lives more than 11,000 km apart. HANOIKIDS is a MUST experience for any solo traveler or family traveler (and everything in between). It makes sense to plan for several different HANOIKIDS tours while in Hanoi or connect with HOTPOT in Ho Chi Minh which is a “sister” organization. Did I mention it was FREE. I miss you Taylor

Dearest Guanajuato26, We are so glad to see that Hanoikids and our lovely kid Taylor were a part of your trip to Hanoi. Your review is very much appreciated and this indeed encourages us to pursue our passion to be an ambassador of Hanoi. Thank you for giving us a perfect rating and for recommending our voluntary club to other travelers. As we are trying to improve our tours, it would be helpful if you could give us your recommendations and suggestions at pr.hanoikids@gmail.com. All over the world, we've been having such a hard time due to the Coronavirus, and now we're happy to inform you that with no cases of community spread since April 17, Vietnam’s once-bustling stalls, shops and restaurants, and all fantastic tourist attractions in the entire country are now allowed to operate again. With such encouraging news, Hanoikids is ready to re-open our tour booking request on June 15th, 2020. We're looking forward to seeing you soon. Kindest regards, Hanoikids Club

I have been to Hanoi 4 times/twice with my wife and twice with my brother and on each occasion we have been guests of Hanoikids. We usually do a half day tour in Hanoi and a night-time food tour. The student guide are excellent, we always have two and generally young ladies. On the trips they are full of information and it is a real two interaction as they take an interest in where you're from, your work history and family life. No doubt all part of practise of interacting in english. Food tours are a delight and we have been to some real out of the way restaurants , the food has alway been great and we receive a fair slice of Hanoi's bill of fare. We have been to a number of well hidden eating places down alleys and up stairs and on these out of the way places often you are the only farangs in the place and the locals love it. If you are going to Hanoi make use of Hanoikids it is a two way experience. Their website is easy to navigate with a selection of recommended tours. Note in HCMC the similar service is call Saigon Hotpot and there is now also one in Hoi An
