Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Some of the worst displays of animal abuse I've ever seen. I cannot stress this enough, this place needs to go out of business and those animals rescued

I saw a monkey forced to smoke a cigarette. It looked very ill and dying. Please do not go. If you go and like the park, you are just as bad as the owners and staff

Awful! Since corona they have left the zoo and the animals in there to starve. They won’t answer messages on any social media platform. There’s been pictures of the tigers that look emaciated. It’s utterly shocking this place has not been taken care of.

This is a terrible place for animals and a really bad experience for anyone, especially children. Surprised that Thai authorities let this place stay open.

Not too sure how to start this post other than it is with heartfelt condolences to the animals currently suffering in the Patong Zoo.
On 1st steps into this place you are greeted with a sense of despair, there's no life in here, every gardenbed is dead, 95% of the enclosures are EMPTY. The 5% contain 3% hornbills that are fed CAT FOOD and bananas (1 bird in every 4th or 5th enclosure that actually has something in it) the 10 monkeys in 3 enclosures have no greenery, no ropes, NO fresh water. The otters are only fed if you pay 30b ($1.20). The entry on the website said 500b, yes I even showed them their own website.. this was not sufficient we paid 1500b ($60 each) .. the other 2% of enclosures that were occupied had 3 enclosures of peacocks (given proper bird feed) roosters & cocks not forgetting the 2 enclosures with domestic cats and kittens!!
The 5 tigers weren't drugged however were chained as were the 2 elephants whose daily task was to play soccer for the audience. The staff here were ALL on their asses playing with their phones!!! NO initiative to clean or tidy or give fresh water to animals.
As you can see from what photos I did take this place should have been SHUT DOWN years ago.
How the Thai government have allowed this swoller to continue operating is beyond me.
The only 1 positive was walking OUT as soon as I had enough photo proof of how bad this place is. We both left depressed and wanting to let those animals that were there freedom.. if a fire was to go through it - it would be entirely gone in a matter of minutes.
There is no bird show as advertised, the aquarium doors are chained shut ( obviously that doesn't exist anymore either).
Absolutely deplorable!!!

I have been visiting here 15 years ago, 8 years ago and now, I just want to say if you wish to throw your 44 eur per person + taxi cost, give that money someone on the street, I believe it will make you happy to see some child get happy and smile to you who really need that will make you happy than going and seeing 2 elephant, 2 monkey, some birds, small crocodile, no tiger, no fish, no sea turtle, disgusting place

EXTREME SIGNS OF ANIMAL ABUSE.
Tigers seemed to be have been drugged, zookeepers would poke them with sticks just so people could take photos... Filthy living spaces for the animals with very limited water in all the enclosures. The fact that this zoo is still open blows my mind...
