Despite the lack of any major tourist attractions, this lively neighborhood is a favorite of many. Whether it's the (somewhat naughty) nightlife of Soi Patpong, the various handicraft night markets or the plethora of dining options that tickle your fancy, a night out in Silom is a must on every itinerary. It's worth a stop during daytime, too: join office workers on a quest to tasty street food during lunch and shop
at Silom Complex for a great mix of Thai and international stores. After a day of strolling around the congested sidewalks, a visit to Silom's Lumphini Park, Bangkok's answer to NYC's Central Park, is a welcome change of scenery.

I was a solo traveler as well and did the bike tour, it’s with a group so you will be put with other travelers. I really enjoyed the tour the guide was excellent we went through a lot of the small neighborhoods around the river area like Chinatown and the Portuguese neighborhood we visited the temples including What Pho which is really nice because it’s in the evening so they’re not busy however be warned a lot of the temple area is closed at that tine so you won’t get an extensive look at these places if that’s what you want. Another advantage in the evening is it’s cooler Bangkok is very hot. We also had a chance to ride the ferry and we stopped at a street vendor for food. Another warning the tour is quite physical I had not rode rode a bike in years and my but was on fire by the end LOL. Even so I highly recommend.
