This was the highlight of my trip to Ghana. The tour guides Nii and Siymeh were so knowledgeable and shared their information on the history of the culture and buildings with inspiring passion. The revealing histories of not only the prominent but also the hidden sites connected to the slave trade was incredible. It is a must if you are in Accra. You won't forget it.

The Jamestown walking tour was awesome! Very informative and not tons of walking. With Collis being a native, there were a lot of personal touches. I definitely recommend this tour

I highly recommend this amazing tour! If you come to Ghana, you MUST put this tour on your "to-do" list. Our tour guide, Collins, is intimately involved in the community and has valuable insight about the area, which he shared throughout the tour. He shared details during the tour that helped us resonate with the history of the people in Jamestown. As Collins walked us through each tour stop, he didn't just spout off random facts; he shared specific and important details to help us understand the history, spiritual beliefs, community&cultural norms, political values, and daily practices of the people. Collins was very considerate of our heat tolerance and strategically planned our tour stops in the shade, (thank you Collins!) He allowed plenty of time for questions and was still able to keep the tour to a reasonable length. I enjoyed it ALL and my favorite parts were (1)learning about their spiritual practices and (2) having a close up look at the family system and learning how they collaborate and cooperate to create community. 💜💜 It's a beautiful community,  a beautiful history, and an amazing tour.

Jamestown and Hushertown are two towns between the Ocean and Accra that are now an integral part of the metropolis. Both very popular areas, vibrant, vital, friezes, fertile in music, dance and traditions. Just think that Azonto was born here! Every Sunday you will witness traditional processions, at every corner you will discover historical inscriptions, you will see monuments such as the lighthouse, the old port, the fish market, the king's house, customs, the post office, Usherfort, the first hotel in Accra. Wherever you'll find places where you'll eat typical fish recipes, attend card and chess tournaments, meet football-playing kids and be future world champions. What are you waiting for, visit Jamestowns and take your most beautiful photos from the lighthouse tower. I suggest you NOT to go alone in the night.
