As a solo white female traveller with no Swahili I was a bit anxious to see Dar, but really wanted an authentic experience to see the real city. Kizito did exactly this. Kizito's communication is excellent, and he is excellent at making you feel safe, giving you space to be curious, and showing you the authentic Dar in a way which doesn't feel exploitative. He makes sure you don't get hasselled or overcharged, and also is very respectful to the vendors and others around. Because I was the only one on the tour, Kizito also took the time to divert the tour to aspects of interest as they arose for me - and I feel like he would go ubove and beyond for others in this way too. After seeing a range of markets and learning more about the history, politics, society and life of Tanzania and Dar, we finished the day with excellent food and a beautiful local beach. I even braved a tuk tuk and ferry! Highly recommend the tinga tinga market, and Kigamboni. Booking this is worth every penny, and a way to be a responsible tourist in a beautiful place!

i took the cycling tour last sunday, with ferdinand. it was super ! we started with the fish market, which thanks to the many detailed explanations i received from my great guide, became a fascinating journey on its own. then we took a ferry towards the other side of the dar's bay, which was fun and allowed to see the city of dar from the sea, and then biked around to see village life, local shops, and local shop owners. we ended up at the mjimwema beach, beautiful! ferdinand was super nice and super knowledgeable, and willing to spend so much time entertaining my questions and showing me around. i am very grateful for that ! i did the tour in february when it is hot and humid. i recommend you wear clothes which protect you against the sun, and to bring water, sun screen, and be ready to be a bit hot ! bring a swimsuit too, you might end up on a beach too !

My daughter and I spent a lovely and memorable stay at Mikumi thanks to Kizito Tours. Everything was well organized from the beginning to the very end. Kizito checked everyday if we were confortable and was able to answer our special requests. He is experienced, reliable and very professional.

As another reviewer said, if I could give Kizito tours 6 stars I would! Kizito and Ferdinand have great chemistry which made their knowledge and history of Dar engaging. We did the market tour and it was well organised. We didn’t have to worry about anything. It was important for me when researching a tour company that it was a company which had first hand knowledge of the city and that was evident from our tour!

If I could give Kizito six stars, I would! He was extremely knowledgable, funny and easy-going. I had a great time on a private history walking tour of Dar and learned and saw so, so, so much more than I would have on my own. A must for anyone visiting the city!

Kizito was a fantastic guide - extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and outgoing. I've lived in Tanzania on and off for a couple of years, but had never spent much time in the city; Kizito explained aspects of its history and journey to the present day in a thoroughly enjoyable and relaxed way.

Day visit through Dar es Salaam with Kizito.
We started with a guide and finished with a friend who showed us the deep hart of the DAR markets where tourists normally never go.
We did the markets tour beginning with the Fish market, then Kariakoo market, Second hand market, Mwenge carvers market, Tingatinga Art Center.
Kizito who speaks fluently English is born here an knows this city by hart.
He also knows everyone in these places and we never felt obliged to buy anything,
All the transportations and drinks where included in the 60 $US pp we payed for the day.
Kizito adapted the tour all along to what we wanted to see.

We were on a cruise (January 2020) and there was a last minute change to our itinerary with a stop in Dar es Salaam. I found Kizito Tours online and we are so glad that we did. We did the market tour and had Peppino as our guide. He was awesome! He was incredibly knowledgeable and made the tour so very interesting. We weren't sure how this last minute stop at Dar es Salaam would be, but this was one of our highlights!

Kizito was quick to answer our emails and any questions we had. Our pick up arrangements and everything that day went smoothly. Would definitely recommend Kizito Tours to anyone visiting Dar es Salaam. Thank you Kizito and Peppino!

I had no much time in Dar es Salaam, so I asked Kizito to meet me in airport and to drive to the Village Museum. The tour of the museum was quite nice itself, and during the trip to the Village Kizito provided me with lots of information on the city. We also had a wonderful chat on this and that – Kizito was very knowledgeable and absolutely positive person. As I had some minor and bigger problems during my trip, caused by the whole covid situation in the world, the tour with Kizito was really very supporting and revival for me. Thanks so much
