I saw and visited this gate twice. Once only saw it from the bus on the way to Anima garden as the road to Ourika valley passing just in front of the gate. Second time i entered to see the Saadien tombs in Kasbah area...More

Be careful when crossing the wide street to enter the gate. The traffic is fast. Once inside the walkways are narrow. The area is historic with tombs, Mosque and a Palace. The gate faces south and is decorative. This is a worthy and impressive place...More

Marrakesh has numerous lovely features of which this historic gate is one. Very beautiful with some fabulous detail in the carving.

Came across this large gateway coming from the main souks on our way to the tombs. Had to stand in the middle of the road to get a good photo. Good information board just inside telling you all about it

The door, however beautiful, would not be worth a detour. Take a look if you go to the Saadian Toombs.

We happened on the gate by chance on our way to the Badi Palace but it was on our list. Needs to have some repairs done to it to bring it back its former glory but worth a visit.

Large original entrance gate to the city of marrkech. A great place to take a picture if only for the sheer size of this gate.

One of original door/gates in Marrakech, if not the only one. Make sure you pass by on the way to the palaces or the Saadian tombs.
