Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We haven't been here since pre-covid and we enjoyed our experience. Since it's the night before Halloween, we saw Halloween and it was good on the big screen. When we first walked in, we had a problem printing our tickets but one of the guys who worked there said we didn't need to print our tickets and we could just show our barcode at the front. It was super easy. At the concessions I ordered a pizza which was brought to me in the theater which I thought was awesome. Super great experience and we have rewards so we will definitely be back:)

We recently attended a movie at the grand opening of this theater and it is awesome. All stadium seating and totally digital. The VIP theaters are incredible especially if you don't want to be disturbed by teens or children, it is a 21 and over theater which serves alcohol. All the seats are comfortable. Also one of the theaters has Dbox seats that move with the action pictures. Great place to watch a movie.

We go for movies on Tuesdays when they have a special. We also have a Galaxy Card for earning points toward free stuff from the concessions or a pass to the theatre. Their selection of films is standard 'what's playing now' stuff. I wish they had a marque you could see from El Camino Real.... that's the drawback. We have to look at the theatre on line, or drive into the parking lot to see what's playing. We might go more often if we could see it from the street.

No wonder it usually isn't crowded. My daughter and I decided to go to the movies while my granddaughter was in her ballet class. We are not exactly trouble makers, I am a retired Interior Designer and my daughter is the mother of three, a Sunday School teacher and has worked as a designer for the same local business over the past 5 years. Neither of us had been to this theatre before. We were not offered VIP tickets at the booth, so we were unaware of this designation? We were told the movie hadn't started. We were misdirected to the theatre and the tickets were taken and kept. When we found the correct place, the movie had already started and the room was completely empty and pitch dark. The volume was bearable, but loud. A few minutes later 3 more people entered and took seats near the top of the tiny theatre. A few minutes later 2 female ushers entered with a couple . One usherette positioned the couple and herself between us and the screen and proceeded to tell us we had to move. I mentioned the VIP tickets earlier, because I wanted to point out that we had no idea that they existed, especially in a small town theatre. We asked why and she said we were in someone else's seats. She said that we had not paid for VIP seats. We asked how we would know that there was a difference and she pointed to the headrests and stated that it says so right there. My daughter replied that you can not see that printed on dark red seats in the dark. Maybe they should rope them off or find a way so that customers can tell. Then we moved. Noting that there were 3 additional rows of empty "VIP " seat between us and the blue seats that we were directed to.

At this point we are not sure what is going on in the movie or why the volume had gotten so loud. We watch for a few minutes more and decided this is not working, we had missed to much. We return to the front to ask if we can see another movie, hoping to see one from the beginning. We were told that it is against policy unless we have tickets. ( Now this is very puzzling.) Our tickets were not returned to us. She admits she remembers us, but calls the Manager, Marcos V? Marcos appears with an attitude and demands the tickets. We explain again and he tells us about his policy and that it is not possible. We insist. He pulls out his radio, turns up the volume and asks the young man. The response was unfortunately for Marcos, "I threw them away". Marcos stormed out. Now this where I will date myself, it reminds me of the "Twilight Zone". With no description how did he know who Marcos was talking about? Marcos returns with two crumpled up tickets. Now he wants to know what movie we want to see. We explain that there are no movies starting soon and we need to pick up a child. We ask if is possible to give us tickets that we can use another time. Now Marcos states that he would give us tickets, but we were rude to 2 employees. Okay, this is getting really weird. We ask what he is talking about and he states again, two of his employees complained about us. How could this be? In the 2 minutes that he was gone to get the tickets, he had complaints about us? Marcos seemed unable to elaborate on the complaints and just kept waiving tickets at the window and stating that he could not have people treating his employees badly. My daughter patiently explained that the only 2 employees spoke to were the ones who made us move and that we were not rude and that my daughter has worked in retail her entire life and knows how it feels and would never be rude. At this point Marcos waves the tickets at the window again and starts to explain that he might let us have tickets if-- My daughter stopped him and said. Excuse me, but I do not work for you and you will not speak to me that way and you should never talk with a customer like that or you won't have any. Then she turned and left as I followed. I have never had an experience like this and I have attended theatres from New York, Boston, Washington DC, Hawaii and many others around this state and other states. It was a very bizarre happening. I will never go to that theatre again and I believe that if the owners wish to continue to stay in business they might want to reconsider Marco's position.

I guess a lot has changed since the May 11 opening. Went last night and discovered there is NO personal service as promised. The food is frozen, tasteless & micro-waved (15 minutes to get a $10 tasteless no frills vending machine type slider) There was ONE bartender/food order taker/microwaver for 30+ people - so expected delays were realized. He told us it is busy on the weekends which is why there is no personal service especially inside the theather. Then why do they charge MORE for weekends? I admit the seats were nicer & no rug rats running around was a plus. But quite frankly the so-called VIP treatment is NON EXISTENT & NOT WORTH the money. Did I mention they charge a ridiculous $6 for a bottle of beer or $8 for 1/2 glass of wine! My suggestion...avoid ... use the regular theather and have a beer & burger after the show at some restaurant that will actually give you VIP treatment. Shame on the management of Galaxy. VIP there stands for Very Incompetent People!

Visited the theater to see Lincoln. It was showing in the Adult only theater (they serve alcohol) and the bartender was outrageously rude. I pointed this out to the Assistant Manger who ignored me. This dampened my enthusiasm for this theater.

It's a movie theater. It's overpriced and they won't even allow you to bring in ANY food. I went on my birthday to see a movie with my daughter and my best friend, my daughter gave me a cupcake as a birthday gift.... she had met me at the theater (she is an adult).....I was holding the box in my hand and they would not allow me to take it into the theater. PLEASE! I wasn't planning on eating it in there.... I was just holding it because it was just given to me. THAT experience soured me on the company forever.

Very little variety in the movies they show. Would like to see more dramas, indie kinds of films like they show at the Palm Theater in SLO. Beautiful theater, unfortunately, there is not much there people would want to see.

Finally a theater in Atascadero! This is a beautiful location with nice seating and sound. Good variety in the concession stand. Rotate art films, which is nice too.

Saw Batman last night. Not the first time I've been and definitely not the last. The theater was sooo hot and overpriced but a nice splurge every once in awhile
