Although definitely commercialised I enjoyed the train ride and the various shops and old buildings. Did not do the mining tour though. A pleasant experience.

We spent about 4 -5 hours going through the town and doing some of the extras. The vibe is laid back and old west with a pinch of kitsch. We did a Apache Tail tour (2 hrs of awesome) and mystery cabin (really fun). Checked...More

A commercialized, tourist version of an old mining town, Goldfield is a glimpse into how things were done in 1885. Lots of vintage machinery and things to see. You can spent money to get into various attractions, but there is lots of free stuff to...More

Stopped by on our return from Tortilla Flat and stumbled on a gunfight in the center of this "wild west gold town!" Toured the town including the bordello, old jailhouse, saloon and church. It is somewhat commercial but they've done a great job of recreating...More

We spend around 3 hours in the town. The town itself is free. We paid a package price for the train tour, old mine and mystery house. Lots of fun for the family. Well worth the drive. Most of the town was original but for...More

If you have kids and they are bored, this might work. It is unbelievably commercial and is totally tacky... they are trying to pretend that the wild west is alive and well. They are probably making far more money today selling ticky-tack than they ever...More

Traveling with friends who wanted to visit a ghost town - "OK, lets try it". Very cool - ended up spending 3 hrs between a jeep tour (Apache Trail Tours base right there), mine tour, watching the gun fight, etc. The old buildlings were actually...More

Just had drinks at the end of the day. Bar very interesting, boots and hats hanging from ceiling, staff in period costumes. Drinks good and reasonably priced. Be sure to check out the authentic pics on the wall for some history.

Exciting??? How can a dead old mining town be exciting? You can recreate the old town with artifacts from the past, hang cowboy boots and hats in the saloon, take a train ride to the mine, pan for gold, watch a gunfight in the street...More

Even though we went as the peak season was over my family and I had a great time. We paid for the different attractions they offered and enjoyed a relaxed time. From a previous visit I learned that this place is run by locals and...More

The pic itself I think was about $40-45, but I got copies (parents) as well as a very western frame. (Weathered wood, barbed wire and a horse shoe). So the actual cost was kind of lost in the total, lol. I was on a roll... More

I think 2-3 hours is more than sufficient as suggested by others. You can shorten the time if you opt out of the train ride which circumnavigates the town itself. The narrative on the train about the gold mining that went... More
