The Capitol building is at one end of the mall and the Lincoln memorial is at the other and it is over 2 miles between them.

We secured a tour through our congressman and avoided walking in big groups. The capitol is beautiful but security is tight, especially near the house and Senate..

It is worth the tour even if the scaffolding is still up.
