Goldie is the name of our boutique vineyard on beautiful Waiheke Island. Here we create character wines that draw on the knowledge and experience of Kim and Jeanette Goldwater who founded winegrowing on Waiheke Island in the 1970’s and produced iconic wines from this vineyard over many decades. We host The Goldie Room Vineyard Cafe, The Tasting Room, and the University of Auckland Goldwater Wine Science Center and are a fabulous venue for your wedding, conference or special event.

This winery is donated to the University of Auckland and now is run by the university. A lot of studying and researching are going on the place and also there are some commercial wines, both white and red. The landscape is beautiful, and the staff...More

My friends and I went to Waiheke island ourselves without joining a tour. Goldie Wine-yard was the first stop we made once we arrived at the island. We basically just walked in without booking. Three of us didn’t stay there for a long time, but...More

Had a nice tasting here. Pleasant spot. It wasn't in our top 3 wineries we visited but the wine was good. Pleasant to sit outside.

The place was super busy but didn’t seem to have many staff on at all. We had a very distracted tasting which was fine but it’s weird being forgotten about. Our favourite wine of the day came from here. A reserve Chardonnay that was fantastic!...More

We really didn't stay at Goldie Estate long enough to get a sense of anything else but pleasant service. We only wanted to try their rose which they let us do for nothing with a cheerful smile - even when we didn't buy any.

We called in here today, had the Ploughman's Platter which was more than enough for two!Great mix of cheeses, meats, breads and accompaniments. I had a lovely rose and husband a local beer. $66 all up..really reasonable. Very friendly,non-intrusive service. Loved this relaxed spot.

Had a lot of fun here. Lovely setting and very friendly staff. Tried 4 wines and the charge was 6 nz$ . Wines were tasty and a nice way to spend an hour.

We ordered the picnic which was ample fare for two, lovingly put together, very tasty and generous. There is the option to sit under umbrellas or take your basket amongst the vines with a blanket or beanbags. Thoughtful, efficient staff and great wine rounded this...More
