Rangihoua Estate is located on the lower slope of a hill in Waiheke Island and focuses on growing various species of olive trees. It produces excellent olive oil, and the range of flavors is quite pronounced. Your host(ess) will give you a tour that explains the process of harvesting and pressing olives, as well as the various types of olives used in the process of making first class extra virgin olive oil. We were also shown a short video, which was quite informative. The estate also produces honey, including Manuka honey, a New Zealand specialty. While you are tasting olive oil, try the various salsas and other concoctions on offer. They are fabulous! The tasting room also has an eclectic collection of souvenirs, including a large, rustic, hand-carved chess set.

Our experience here was wonderful. We learned so much about the growing and processing of Olives for oil. It was particularly useful to know how olive oil is graded and what to look for on the market shelves. The owners here are so hospitable and offered lots of samples in their lovely gift shop.

The staff at this place were welcoming and friendly however to call it a wine tasting experience was guilting the lily somewhat. Essentially they produce olive oil in various guises, herbs chutneys and various cosmetic products which they promote in preference to wine. Horses for courses one might say but don’t dress it up,as wine tasting.

We made a quick stop here for olive oil, which we always do when on Waiheke. The flavours are amazing and it is no wonder this is an award-winning olive estate.

We stopped here to do an olive oil tasting. The people were friendly and they offered quite a variety of olive oils. We ended up buying several different types, but our favorite was the olive oil with fresh herbs. Fun little stop on Waiheke Island!

I love this place, and the girls here are super nice and helpful. The olive oil is beyond sublime. A little off the beaten track, but this place is a MUST VISIT if you find yourself on the fair isle of Waiheke.

We did a little tour of the olive oil production, watching a slide show and viewing the equipment. We then did a tasting of three different olive oils. It was very informative. The offer a variety of products for sale.

It was great to see this place. It was a lovely pit stop on the tour. The herb mix they had was super tasty. I opted not to try their wine. This is yet another gem on the Waiheke Island trek.

Part of one of the tours organised from Auckland by Fuller's Ferries. Good video and explanation of the process of making olive oil and associated products. We learnt a lot about how to store a top-end olive oil and how to disguish the best from the rest! Good range of products, of different sizes and at reasonable prices, in the souvenir shop.

Did not expect to find so much here in one place. Got to see the olive trees, equipment for processing olives into oil and interesting video of the process. Then a tasting of their award-winning EVOO's, 3 several different types, plus herb spread, chutney, even sliced apples to "clean the palate". Good chance to buy local gifts - the 3 oil assortment is packed in a thick foam container to make it easy to pack. Beautiful pottery; wish I had room to take more!
